Cheers for posting the vid. Pretty bang on about Enzo and Cleverly......in hindsight it was a stupid fight to put Enzo in with Lebedev.......the guy had zero confidence in himself......If he still wants to box on he needs quite a few easy touches in a row just to get some belief back into himself. Joe looking pretty old facial wise now, no chance of a comeback me thinks, seems a sensible lad with his cash so I doubt he'll need to fight for money
He was right about Afolabi. Afolabi was a horrible choice of opponent. None of us knew **** about him, on paper he looked an easy touch with draws against less than stellar opposition. We didn't know anything about him, and I question whether Enzo did considering how he fought. Afolabi was too slick, he absorbed Enzo's best work and then took him when he was vulnerable. They should have looked at tapes of Afolabi and realised he was not what was required to rebuild a guy after a loss. It's supposed to be an easyish fight, a KO, just to get the mentality back to where it was. That was the breaking point for Enzo IMO. Yeah you can talk about the Haye loss, but everyone has losses and at that point he was only somewhat vulnerable in confidence terms. He was fighting Afolabi with little fear, which backfired. Against Lebedev he fought in complete fear. Afo was the breaking point, he figured if he can lose to this guy he will struggle with unbeaten Lebedev.
I get impression he is hoping Enzo gets out of Warren deal and goes with his promotional company. I agree with everything he said although the Carl Ince thing was disrespectful to a guy who worked with his father. Carl actually brough Enzo a calm head with good clear instructions rather then...''what da **** ya doing Enz....wake da **** up and get this *******....he aint got **** on you for **** sake'' Agree with him on Cleverly aswell.
Agree completely I wish someone would tell him that, he seems like a smart lad I hope it's just him promoting himslef because if he went to world level now he would get beaten. He needs 2 more fights at domestic level against experienced opponents, I like the idea of Tim Bell for the Commonwealth and WBA #2 Title Eliminator and then Magee for the Commonwealth and British straps. I agree with your thoughts his mentality seemed to be much better going that fight then it was against Lebedev. Funny I think if his original fight with Banks for the vacant title went ahead I think he would have won, spent far too long out of the ring after Haye and I am sure that also played a part in his eventual downfall.
