I happened to be at the fight last year and the fanatical welsh fans were of the same judgement as me that joe really struggled in that bout.. Im aware he won convincingly on the scorecards but they didnt tell the whole story of the bout. Even the biggest calzaghe nuthugger would admit that a performance like that will end his night in tears against kessler. Im actually loving the constant hype about calzaghe... if Kessler happens to lose it would be expected by most BUT if he wins than he would become a INSTANT LEGEND among most nuthuggers on this site.. Im still amazed to how a victory over the overhyped Jeff "WHERE DID THE LEFT HOOK GO" lacy could elevate some1 to automatic legend status... I know the U.k havent got much great boxers at the moment but come on people...
1000 punches on Lacy ? You mean 1000 punches thrown right ? Cause he landed something like 450/500 punches on Lacy (don't remember who counted that in this forum).
Did someone did a count here for the fight? Because I've never believed that 1000+ punches landed crap, that would be 83 landed per round...I could see that for a round or two, but not all 12. And now Joe's promising to land an average of 166+ shots a round? Almost one per second? At least he's ambitious.
Joe's just hyping. He doesn't take this statement of his seriously, and nobody here should. Heck, for this day and age, he's keeping it tasteful -- just some teasing without flat-out insulting, degrading, or making light of his opponent.
