Good luck to him in the future and its probably the right decision retiring on top at his age as he is getting on now. Absolute legend of a fighter and I will miss watching him.

Let me point out your middleweight category is incorrect, and would have to include hypothetical matches between the likes of Shane Mosley and James Toney when discussing head-to-head fights.

I've never seen the fans of a fighter so happy when the guy retired.

That tells you everything you need to know about the excitement he brought to his fights - none whatsoever.

Great looking record....however you know haveing a nice shiny ZERO at the end of a record doens't have anything to do with actual substance and merit. Joe has some nice wins at the end of his career.....but for a GREAT fighter and Talent that Joe most certainly is...his record and legacy have a ways to catch up.

The undefeated title is nice though...it's just a bit saddening to know Joe could have had a much more illustrious career and legacy had he showed more urgency to challenge himself in his prime rather than watiing until the very end of his career to get that itch.

He's going to be missed and he's truly a terrific boxer with a **** load of talent....but lets be honest, hes had only ONE great win and that was over Nard....who was ancient. Still a name like Nard and Roy Jones are great to have on your resume but 10 yrs ago it would have been AMAZING instead of "nice".

I've never liked Calzaghe, but after he beat my boy Kessler I have to give him credit, he was a great fighter.
