how does fighting a finished RJJ make more money then fighting an undefeated KO king in kelly pavlik.

he is running from the big fight like he has done fo the last 12 years.

pavlik would KO that ***** but maybe i will have to settle with RJJ giving that hype job a boxing lesson, a nearly washed up RJJ will give him a boxing lesson just imagine if calzaghe got into the ring with him in his prime. :yep

I agree. Calzaghe has been Warren's feather in his cap; he's not going to tarnish the memory of their relationship by turning sour. He'll wish him all the best and praise him for what he's achieved and talk about his pride for having contributed to Calzaghe's success.

for me he seems like a guy, who wants to be the best, otherwise he simply put, would not be the best.

but nevertheless im sick of the money excuse, does it really matter, whether the paycheck says 4 or 5 mill dollar, us normal people would be more then happy with a significant lower pay then that.:deal

Lets be real does Joe care? He couldnt give a crap. His done it his way made easy money in the process and is now a big money name stateside. His also at the end of his career. His just a typical SN fighter nothing more or less. History though wont be kind and the historians amongst us WILL remember his rather evasive and comfortable career.

Fact: He will make more money fighting Jones because Jones is a reciognisable name, who just beat another recignisable name in Tito.

It will be much easeir to sell to the public.

Roy will most probably lose. Frankly it irks me that:

    A) Joe is fighting Roy.

    B) You are being an abnoxious ***** about Calzaghe

    C) You think Roy is going to win, prime Roy easy not now.

You are not a boxing fan just a hater.

Joe can usually do no wrong in my eyes but, from the outside looking in I'd say that this is a CRAZY move for him.

Would you say the same about some of the England 1966 world cup winning squad back then? That they were set for life? And then 40 years on some of them are selling things like their medals!

Unfortunately you can't guarentee how inflation will change in years to come and who says he wants to work in something else, would you if you didnt need too?

Also he probably would want to set up his family for as long as possible to give them a good life for years to come, his career earnings probably arent as high as you think so why not milk one last cow until its completely dry!

    Quite ridiculous.

so why do you say he doesnt need to work, because he has earned enough money to be called a multi millionaire:deal

the 66 world cup winning guys, what the hell do they have to do with anything..:yep

in his last two fights joe has earned somewhere in the region of 10 mill dollar, perhaps even more, so inflation my hairy ass mate.

and again, does it matter whether he earns 5 or 7 or 9mill dollar pr fight, these amounts are so high, that every normal family, with mom dad and 2 children, would be set for life. and thats just 1 fight.

    excuses excuses excuses..

took the words right out of my mouth:good also this fight has nothing to do about money as nobody is going to pay to watch Joe struggle to beat another senior citizen.....There is no way anyone can rationally believe that Jones will draw more money than a fight with Pavlik......as the article states Jones is YESTERDAYS news(gee sorta like Popkins)...It has more to do with Joe keeping his 0 intact and not getting KTFO by the prime MW king............who will buy Jones-Calzaghe? people who gave a **** about Jones 10 years ago I doubt will care much now.....espescially Joe fans that have seen Joe fight since 98 don't give a **** about this fight and as this site tells you they're slightly more die-hard than Roy fans of 10 years ago:deal

Ok so if YOU had the chance to do something to make a huge amount of money that would set up YOUR family for generations to come or would YOU be happy in the fact that YOU have enough to get by comfortably in YOUR life?

The 66 guys was an example of great sportsmen can earn a fortune in their career but still down the line can be in money troubles due to cost of living etc raising!

10 million dollars really isnt that much anymore, it works out to about 5 million pounds and its estimated that you could comfortably retire on 3 million pounds! Doesnt leave a lot for his family after that! I bet his fights before his last two didnt make hhim anywhere near that much money!

I personally would want my family having a great life, the my kids familys having a great life and so on for as long as possible.

What's up with these fighters? He hid behind his promoter for years, now the split to fight none other than an old Roy Jones? If this is indeed his last fight he can forget about his "legacy".

what planet are you living on..? 10 mill isnt much.. thats crazy..

and no way in hell, does a person need 3 mill pound sterling to retire comfortably.. thats called luxury

im from denmark, and we have a system close to the british, so its quite safe to compare, and for such an amount of money, you could almost live of the interests.

the last thing you wrote, seems to be fair enough, if money equals happiness. and i sya again, those are just his last 2 fights, how much money do you think joe has earned his entire career, living the past 5-6 years being the biggest sportsman and brand in wales,, its sure as hell isnt peanuts. he could retire now, and stil live in luxury,, ups sorry comfortablý:hey

its a sickening excuse, for not taking the toughest test out there. facing pavlik, then there is nothing left. then he could retire, the money excuse is embarrising.

why the hell has pavlik become the new yardstick?????

what the hell has he done???

the sad thing is, the only reason pavlik has any semblance of a chance is because of joe's age. no other reason - heck, you take away 2 years off joe, and its not even in contention.

pavlik has done jack **** to warrant his current reputation and rating.
