I'm aware that this isn't a new video, but I was watching it recently: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrauy1uQYQY[/ame] I don't count myself as a hater or a fanboy of Calzaghe -- most of the time I just disregard him, to be honest. He doesn't incite much hate or love on my part. After hearing those lyrics, though, I felt a mixture of embarrassment and annoyance. 'Status of a legend, finally has been gained'? How? After beating a completely shot Jones Jr, scraping past Grandpa Hopkins, and outboxing Jeff Lacy? (Granted, Hopkins looked great against Pavlik, but I never credited Pavlik with much at all, really. I was most impressed with Calzaghe during his bout with Kessler, and Kessler hasn't exactly been looking legendary against other top fighters.)
It is kinda dumb, but then again, many Americans discredit alot of non american fighters, so its fine with me when he disses them. I am no fan of Joe at all, I think he would have lost to many fighters, and I dont like his style (The dude slaps like a B****). But when American "experts" call Aaron pryor as one of the ATG´s, and the greatest light welter in history, even if his record isnt impressive and cheated against a past prime Arguello. Then calling Joe an ATG, isnt that stupid afterall.
Its an awful thing to do, I hated it also when Jones was doing rap songs about himself and when Hatton was having a song about himself being Ricky Fatton, all very self absorbed
He's always been deluded. When he got caught out by the News of the World one of their reporters said he was really wound up that a magazine had Lennox Lewis ranked higher than him in terms of status.
