If we compare fighters that a young Bute and older Calzaghe met:

Sakio Bika: UD for the two, but a harder fight for Calzaghe, who wins with a tumid face.
Kabary Salem: UD for Calzaghe, KO 8 for Bute

Bute, a romanian born, living in Canada= a lot of haters.
Bute, a Romanian born, living in U.S., U.K. or Australia: he will be THE KING!

What has Bute done to suggest he could handle Calzaghe? Bute's three biggest wins are against extremely crude sluggers, and in one of those bouts he was nearly KTFO.

Calzaghe's advantage in stamina alone is enough to give him this bout.

A better question would be today's Bute versus the 2007 version of Kessler.

Calzaghe is retired for quite a bit now. Tell me how at his age he would recover. We've all heard what kind of life he's living. I think that Calzaghe would lose against any of the top 10 fighters because he's old, retired, doesn't train and party too much to be able to compete at that level.

I'm not talking about when Calzahe was boxing.

For a start calzaghe would have took that uppercut.

People are getting way too carried away with the miranda win, everyone beats miranda guys been in hard battles and taken hard punishment.
Miranda gets worse and weaker with each fight and has no chin left and questionable staying distance and stamina.

Miranda was giving Bute plenty to think about and at times you could even say outboxing Bute which is ridiculous as Miranda cant box.

Then his stamina gave way and he got clocked on his glass jaw and gave up.

    Calzaghe UD.

Oh. Well, probably several guys can defeat today's version of Calzaghe.

Calzaghe likes to just be overwhelming like a kid on ritalin but truth is he had the ability to adapt extremely well and fast in fights, when he was focused, with what the opponents were doing.

I say Calzaghe from a few years ago would beat today's Bute but it would be a good and competitive fight, sort of like the Kessler-Calzaghe fight from a few years ago.

Shouldn't this be in the Classic Boxing Forum since Calzaghe's retired? :D
