One of the best Quotes i've heard come out of RJJ mouth was during a post fight interview where he said "you box a fighter and fight a boxer"

What would you categorise Joe as? A boxer or a fighter

He is most certainly both, he has shown he is very versatile.

Thats got a lot to do with his longevity. He can adapt and does it well.

    Calzaghe v Pavlik may happen.

Apparently they just need to reach an agreement and it will be Nov 15 at 168 pds. Toprank will scrap the fight they had pencilled in for Pavlik after the Lockett fight.

If that's the case, I take my hat off to Joe Calzaghe. He'd be offered a lot of money to fight Jones, unless he intends to do that first. Either way, the man's a legend.

    My thinking too.

After Roy Jones Jr, Calzaghe may stay around and attempt to win at heavyweight.......v Holyfield, Foreman and Ali. :-(

Mundine fans should be the last people to criticise Calzaghe's opponents.

Maybe Joe can secure a fight with Rashid Matumla before riding off into the sunset.

Very true, Mundine is going down Joes path of least resistence.

Indeed, it's sad as Mundine, like Joe, has the talent to be doing much better things.

    That's a **** poor response. :huh

We are talking about the great Joe Calzaghe aren't we? Not some 2nd division WBA champ that fights Argie cab drivers, no, Joe Calzaghe, one of the greatest fighters of the modern era, one of the greatest fighters ever to step out of Great Britian....:!:

So how does Mundine come into this? How? I'll tell you how.

Because the same people that bag Mundine praise Calzaghe even though they know deep down that Calzaghe has been managed in an identicle way to Mundine. In fact Joe has been fighting pro for seven years longer yet the biggest fighters he has faced in that time (since Mundine went pro) are Lacy, Kessler (who Mundine also fought) and a 43 year old Hopkins.

    Yep, true legend indeed. :-(

Bring On Larry Holmes...maybe Butterbean

I'm pretty sure you're confused ajay, I said that like Calzaghe, Mundine has the talent to do great things. I said that whilst in the process of agreeing with teke that "Mundine is going down Joes path of least resistence"
So please explain how I "bagged" Mundine whilst praising Joe?

In regards to yourself I was only commenting to your response, which I thought was poor (that being that "Mundine fans" should be the last to criticise Calzaghe)

The rest of the post was directed at those that frequently bag Mundine whilst talking up Calzaghe. If that ain't you then fair enough but you were the one that brought Mundine into the thread, not I.
