if you said JC would have worked all over him i would of give ya credit but RJJ could not control the ring with a big volume pouncher as calzaghe is , causing RJJ to get frustrated and go for his famous KO pounch alot which calzaghe would dodge and land the shots to RJJ then do it AGAIN AND AGAIN am sorry Jones fan but what ever u think Skills pays the billz and Calzaghe has more Skillz than RJJ had in prime
Why are you under estimating Kessler like that?! Have you seen his fights?? to call anything other than outstanding to how Calzaghe won against him is dumb! Kessler is so under estimated in the states, i hope he changes your mind when he literally kills Lacy in the ring!! (OH no he wont will he because Lacy is the new Mike Tyson, or so he was the week leading up to the Calzaghe-Lacy fight!!!!!!!) :rofl
Skill-wise there's a massive gap between them. I can see Calzaghe possibly outworking the current version of Jones but prime Jones would murder him.
Who gives a **** about Lacy? Lacy's a bum.. RJJ had monstrous power.. more than Kessler.. Anybody with a reasonable knowledge of boxing would know this..
Roy Jones did so many things in the ring that Joe did not. As an athlete, Jones was a class above Calzaghe, he had MUCH MORE POWER, blinding speed (maybe the fastest hands ever at that weight), great instincts, and (unlike no) NO FEAR. You forget that Jones was not bothered by much of anything in his prime. He rarely lost a round against far superior competition than what Calzaghe has faced. Jones had one punch power that Calzaghe does not. There were LITERALLY times in which a fighter did not land a single punch in a round against Roy Jones. Jones knocked out (and broke the ribs) of Virgil Hill with a single body shot. He beat Toney and Hopkins (both easily), and when he wanted to, could just embarrass pretty much anyone. Calzaghe is very good, but don't compare his pure dominance of the scorecards and the ring with Jones. Calzaghe has traits that have been seen before, Jones was a freak. Never before was there a fighter like Jones, and there hasn't been one close since. Anyone who thinks Calzaghe would easily beat Jones obviously has some stupid fan agenda. Jones would stop Calzaghe dead in his tracks. Calzaghe wouldn't have the speed, skill, power, or athletic advantage. What else is there??? Jones easy UD (wouldn't look easy, but it would be fairly wide margin on the scorecard) 117-111
oh bolloks, i bet you were one of the lacy lovers before March 05 2006, saying how he is going to be the new undisputed SMW champ of the world, how calzaghe would be an easy victory for him etc etc Dont give me the talk down 'knowledge' **** aswell, your the one whos obviously neve seen any fights of Kessler, yeah RJJ had power, nothing to what Kessler had in his uppercuts though.
we've already had this discussion. we're talking prime jones here. jones ud calzaghe. like he did to hopkins and like he did to toney. calzaghe would be a feisty underdog, but you have to favor roy in this one. prime jones would be the one to knock out joe.
CoronaCards , i think u gave a good analyists but you keep missing out the skills of JC he is also a athlete which superp ring movemnt ability to frustrate boxers been a southpaw may help but he just frustrated them more with his work rate and accrucy ( pounch 10 times a combo 6 land ) that will do damage and i dnt think RJJ will accept this and get frustrated causing wild shots , I dnt think RJJ has fought a boxer who is as fast as he is and that is Calzaghe who would make the superior RJJ feel awkawrd so dont expect a white wash on the cards I expect Calzghe UD :thumbsup
keep embarassing yourself.. not so long ago someone did a poll on RJJ v Kessler in power.. It was something like 90% in favour of Jones.. you don't have a clue about what your talking about.. Jones's power at 168 was supernatural, and he could deliver it at the most awkward angles possible..
