this is bollocks, he as always getting clubbed. He won by absorbing Kesslrs best shots yielding the lead to Mikkel early on, then voluming his ass when Kess slowed.

As for KO4Clev, we don't know how good he is yet, so its unfair to say hes NOT technically gifted when he demolishes man after man punch perfect better than Kess did.

    Always getting clubbed?

He was hit a good amount sure but no way was he "Always getting clubbed"

He was the one always clubbing others.

1000+ punches and almost slapped Lacy to death. Lacy's career was ended on that night.

He completely took Kessler's boxing away, he didn't just absorb his punches. He outpunched him like crazy. Kessler waited for Calzaghe to tire, never happened. :deal

Kessler was completely overwhelmed that night.

Whats wrong with you? getting hit square means the same thing as getting clubbed.

how can you slap someone to death, that's an oxymoron?

Joe absorbed them with his chin. He had a chin good enough to absorb eurofire and stay on his feet. And he won by overtaking Mikkels points lead once Mik slowed. He did good, but don't pretend he didn't rely on soaking it up.

Joe would have probably been KO'd by Kovalev
Apollo Kovalev is one mighty man and he can hit you with
different shots--like the one Agnew felt when he got leveled with
that left jab hook from a southpaw's position
Then finishing him with the body shot

    1. "Always getting clubbed"

That's not true at all and you know it.

    2. It was a figure of speech. Everyone loves to call him a slapper.

    3. It seems like you haven't watched many of his fights. Watch the Kessler fight, he completely befuddled him starting from r4. Kessler never ever got going. He was mildly successful for the first 3 rounds but nothing more than that.

Go watch the fight bud. You clearly haven't when you make ******ed comments like "Joe won the fight by taking all of Kessler's punches with his iron chin then waited till Kessler was slow before volume punching him"

    Dumbest comment ever.

    Watch the fight.

OBVIOUSLY that's not all that happened but its on what the victory hinged on (plus home brew).

Keep on assuming crap like I haven't watched it and continue to have pleasant dreams.

Ah..damn wrote a prolonged post (as I do) only to have it zapped when the ancient laptop I'm using overheated and shut down,

Anyways MVC! - you've suddenly become a Calslapper?...slick piece of trolling but nonetheless actually a worthwhile question.

What Zaggy did well (and this is where it becomes more relevant) was disrupt other fighters' rhythm with his fast hands and good timing - this is a puzzle that Kovalev will face if he ever has to fight Ward who doesn't quite have the handspeed of Zaggy, but has an exquisite ability to time and disrupt his opponents attacks.

As with any of these hypothetical matchups - really hard to give an answer - what I would say is that I'm finding it hard to think of a stylistic equivalent of Kovalev to make a judgemnt, but what it will take to beat him is either someone who can anticipate and/or disrupt his offense (a Ward or Zaggy) but who can anticipate and neutralise 3 4 and 5 punch combos from distance or a really deadly counter puncher (perhaps Stevenson) who can catch him with something big enough to floor him from the one shot.

Time will tell I guess...real pity it looks like we ain't gonna gt the Kovalev - Stevenson fight in the fall.

I'm not trolling and I've always been a Calzaghe fan.

I didn't just suddenly turn into one.

I've already said what you said multiple times.

Calzaghe could definitely be floored but to say that Kovalev will knock him out.... a bit of a stretch. Calzaghe has never even wobbled, he got up at the count of 2 everytime and never held. Went on fighting and continued delivering the onslaught on his opponents.

Well it's a justified assumption, you don't seem to possess much knowledge of what went on in that fight. Maybe you watched it too long ago?

If you did, I'm sorry, but you can't really blame me when you make ludicrous comments like that. Sorry!

LOL, everyone knows Lacy was a hype-job and a bum who never beat anyone.

The only way for Joe to win is if they fought in the UK and he got one of his special "stoppages" with the first slap he connects with. Otherwise Krusher walks thru his windmill slaps and puts Joe to sleep. KO8:bbb
