Calzaghe Will Fight On If Money Is Right

If Dawson beats Diaconu and then beats of the winner of say an Erdei v Johnson fight, there would be not doubt he has a mandate as the number 1 contender. Kessler fights at 168 and has no plans up moving up anytime soon unless its a big money fight against Calzaghe or Hopkins. And Hopkins is in the same boat as Calzaghe, a whole lot of mileage, not much else to prove and no big name fighters to prove it against. If RJJ and Hopkins do ever fight again, it will most likely be against each other.

 

Once against Dawson and his fight with Rico Hoye was sidelined because he was hurt.

 

But does it make him a big enough name for Calzaghe to hang around for, simple answer is no!

 

The thing is if Dawson beats Diaconu and Erdei (or Johnson again), He might have the ATTENTION of Calzaghe who can say "Yeah he beat some good fighters but he's not a star."

He really needs star power to attract Calzaghe but he's more or less boxed out of any big attention garnering fights.

 

Right,forgot about that,but they rescheduled that 2 months later,when BOTH agreed to it.The other...well you know the history there.

You should have seen the press conference for the fight(Chad vs Adrian),Don King was spitting political **** left and right,I was rolling on the floor laughing.It still is a short video on youtube,you should check it out

If there was a 4 man tournament of sorts between the current ABC belt holders (Diaconu, Erdei, Dawson), and substituting G. Johnson for Garay, by the time they're done the hype machine will be in full throttle for the winner. It'll take however long it takes. As long as its within 2 years, I don't see why not. Calzaghe can retire for now and always comeback if the opportunity arises.

 

And i suppose Lewis should come back and Vitali?

2 years time Calzaghes past it and retired for 2 years so the fight wouldnt mean anything to anyone!

Plus with all the dfferent promotional companys try getting the fights signed not to mention any sort of injury set backs, dodgy decisions, close fights, draws. Erdei wouldnt fight out of Germany either leading to further problems!

 

Its not going to happen because of the promoters. But Johnson would definitely go to Germany, and if Dawson was willing to go to Germany to fight Kessler, why shouldn't he want to go there to fight Erdei to unify?

 

yeah like he has time to do that...if dawson aint there yet....hes the only logical choice if he fights again.....
