So, most boxing fans other than Calzaghe fans are stupid?

They seem to be the only ones who think he has a great resume.

He might get past Hopkins but lose to Froch and Dawson.

Joe has nipped them close at the cards many more times in his career than Floyd. Floyd could lose the rest of his fights and he will be remembered much more fondly than Joe. As far as the title, it was the WBO title. When he first won the strap many people didn't even consider the WBO a legit sanctioning body. I'll agree he retired as the best 168 pounder in the world, his legacy will suffer for it as he never faced a single well repected champion who was in his prime. One win over a guy like Chad Dawson would have done wonders for him.

I'm fine with him coming back as long as he fights like Ward, Dirrell, Froch, or Dawson

Anyone who thinks that Froch could beat Calzaghe is living in a dream world. Joe would absolutely thrive in that style matchup.

Reid and Hopkins should be non-starters.

Froch and Reid would both be very winnable, perhaps even easy fights for Calzaghe.

Hopkins rematch doesn't make sense, most people think Hopkins is well and truly finished now, the first was rubbish, who actually wants to see a rematch?

Calzaghe will never fight Dawson, because Dawson is far too young, strong, skilled and athletic - and not big box office - the risk versus reward ratio is all out of whack with regards this fight.

If Calzage comes back it better be agtainst JT, BH, RJ or even FM other than that at 168 I see his feet getting put to the sky.... These guys learnin curves just went crazy while he was gone... Maybe then he could compete but now this much inactivity makes him duckmeat..

I cant see good ole coke joe making a comeback really and i definitely dont want to see a rerun of that rubbish fight between him and hopkins, that fight would surely flop bigtime anyway given the snooze fest the first one was

His victory over Jones was never impressive, the fact is Jones has been floored prior to that fight and after that fight.

if Jones punch in first round floored him , I'm not going to be surprise if he looks really bad in all sudden this time around against powerfull puncher & durable contender however .... as expected, Hopkins will screaming for a rematch and he will accept it, so prepare for another snorefest.

No, it was "not impressive" because Jones was shot to **** and brutally KO'd twice, years before the debacle against Calzaghe. Just so we are clear.
