Credit for the win? The fact that it was a stoppage, that he was a far smaller man then Leonard, etc etc? Is there any way to elevate it to being a decent or better win, all things considered?

Anytime a guy goes in the ring and does what he's supposed to do, he deserves credit, so yes, Hector does get points for his performance. Does he get extra credit for beating a 40 year old fighter who hadn't stepped in the ring in over 5 years, just because his name just so happened to be Ray Leonard? No...
I laughed my ass off when Hector beat Leonard. I'm sorry, but I never cared for Leonard and was waiting for the day someone would do that to him and I am glad it happened.
I don't think so. Leonard looked as though he wasn't really trying hard and like he was just in there for the money.

He did seem to have one last hurrah. Both were at least very good (Leonard; Brilliant), but I had no time for either. After the fight though, I decided I could put with the Macho Man; it does not get much better than seeing Ray Leonard being floored by a jab.:rofl
i'm wondering how Leonard would fare vs prime hector in an over the weight match. I dont think it could ever have happened since these types of matches were a thing of the past; Ketchel Johnson, Pep-Angott. But this is a subject of such fierce debate on youtube that I have come to wonder what would actually happen. Hector was incredibly fast at 130 and would give ray fits but somehow I get the feeling Ray would catch him and change the complexion of the fight. Ray was pretty fast too you know. I have to think that the result couldnt possibly have ended like the Howard Davis fight.
An 82 Ray Leonard is catching up with Camacho sooner, rather than later IMO. Plus as shown in the Rosario fight, I think Camacho had a bit of the dog in him at the time.... But he showed he could take his beating like a proper man against Chavez, when he matured.
I have to admit I was quite pleased with the outcome as well. The best dismantling of Leonard since the Norris fight in 1991
