i think this 'he faked it' sort of stems from how he acted in the froch fight. i'm a honest poster,no nut hugging my favourites. the truth for me is, i don't like dirrell, but he earned that win and isn't getting the deserved respect. lets stick to the facts, abraham hit him on the ground,he ruined the fight, that night i blamed dirrell but you just can't do that. we will never know the effect the foul had,but we all know it was out of order.the best way have a unbiased opinion is reverse the situation
You would have a point if they were in Europe for the fight, in particular Germany. If they were there, Abraham could have pushed Dirrell to the mat, put him in a headlock and throw combinations to him while he was prone and been allowed to continue. Hell, Froch threw Dirrell to the mat (with both arms) and was allowed to continue.
i predicted dirrell would do a number on abraham, but then i am excellent at predicting fights. i have no problem with how dirrell boxing, but i do believe he exagerated the effects of the blow. like you said though, it was an illegal blow, and abraham got dq'd for it. monte barrett did it to haye, but i didn't see to many americans complain about barrett not getting dq for it instead they complained about haye's rabbit punching. that speaks volumes, it's like pick and choose for who it's ok for.
This is just a poor excuse to change the subject cause you can't in your right mind deny that he might have been exagerrating the effect of the punch. Nobody in this thread has argued otherwise. Your point is meaningless in this discussion. Oh dear. Contradiction anyone?? You really are chatting some garbage. Did you watch the 10th round?? Dirrell was ****ed.
Granted, Jingoism plays a huge part in who people root for. I have never argued the point of whether Dirrell faked it, because on one hand I could see he may have or on the other hand I can see that he did not. That cannot be proved, however I do debate what I saw in the actual fighting, i.e., Dirrell outclassed Abraham for 10 rounds, Dirrell looked as if he was beginning to wilt due to fatigue. Abraham was closing the gap and looked to be coming on. Dirrell slips on slick logo in the ring. Abraham screwed himself due to frustration with the illegal blow. Abraham loses. Dirrell wins.
Since you are responding to what you refer to as garbage, then I am going to call you the garbage receptacle. In case the point was not clear to you hamboy, I am only saying in the wake of the illegal blow, it makes no sense to argue the point of whether Dirrell faked it BECAUSE Abraham was DQ'd anyway. You probably don't accept what you saw for most of the fight, so you concentrate on conjecture. Would of, could of, should of is the realm of conjecture. Or is that a new word for you Trash Can?:bbb
Right. So you think that Abraham would have easily KO'd Dirrell on his feet if the fight had continued, but there's no way that he hurt him badly with a flush shot that was landed when Dirrell was on his knees and defenseless? :-(
Not saying its a good thing but how many times did we see a fighter getting hit while down and the ref not even taking a point. I say a lot. ANd no, not only in Germany.
In the end, does it really matter if Dirrell was 'acting' or not? Abraham deserved to be disqualified regardless. I don't care if Dirrell jumped up in the air and did somersaults.
Obviously he hurt Dirrell but he didnt knock him out cold like Dirrell pretended. That was just to make sure he got the win. And yes i think the KO would have come Dirrell was running out of gas and Abraham was chasing him just trying to land the finishing shot. I think it would have ended in the 12th.
That's funny, because I've seen plenty of fights where a fighter hits an opponent after they were down and doesn't get dq'd :think
Only thing I can say after I've seen the punch which lead to AA's DQ multiple times: it wasn't intentional. He fouled Dirrell and because of that he was disqualified, but it wasn't intentional. He had only approx. 0.5 seconds to think about it...that's not much. The slow motion makes it look much more intentional though...
A lot of dumb mother****ers in here have apparently never been knocked out and don't know the first thing about what it feels like or how you act. There is a wide range of states of consciousness between sparked out cold, like Hatton, and perfectly conscious and alert. It is perfectly possible for your body to continue moving while unconscious. It happens to epileptics during seizures. Even when someone is knocked out cold like Taylor against Abraham the brain is still sending signals, as evidenced by the fact that his neck and arms are tensed. Getting knocked out doesn't generally turn you into a sack of potatoes and there is are range of behaviors that are typical, particularly depending on how it occurs.
Did you nod off during the 9th and 10th rounds by any chance? You know, the bit where Abraham had Dirrell on chicken legs???
