At first I thought Campbell but more it gets closer , I think Garcia has got him at the right time and will beat him comfortably over 12.
Worth noting that Campbell hasn't fought for nearly 17 months. That's a long time to be out the ring. Just in regards to him putting up a good show against Loma, he lost nearly every round and the little fella wobbled him a couple of times and put him down in the 11th hence me questioning his punch resistance. I appreciate that Loma has a decent dig on him for a smaller fighter but Campbell looked in bother every time Loma landed clean.
That's a good point about his punch resistance, I don't think it's the best but he has always recovered well, maybe that could be down to making weight these days. I just think he's going to try box Garcia at range and won't look to get into a firefight. Garcia looks to have the power to drop him but I get the feeling he's going to struggle with Campbell's reach and getting on the inside.
11/4 are very good odds. I really hope Campbell can win this. I think he’s underrated by a lot of people. I can see what people are saying about his weight but let’s not forget he boxed at 56kg (8 stone odd) in the olympics. I know when he moved up to lightweight was over 7 years ago and you would think maybe it’s time he should be moving up again but he doesn’t strike me as someone who really struggles. I hope it doesn’t effect him anyway.
I want Luke to win and if I were old enough I'd put money on him winning on points, but Garcia isn't that bad. He's won loads of national titles and has wins over Devin Haney in the amateurs. Since moving to Reynoso he has looked very good. Campbell is past his prime now and I feel like Garcia will stop him.
I do think Campbell is very good but Garcia is a special talent, he will win this and it should be by stoppage. If it gets to the cards I can see him loosing a split decision. Garcia by KO (1/1 - 3/2)
Only concern from me is that Campbell keeps his lead left low quite often. He could be ripe for a left hook bang on the button. He's shown he can come off the canvas and fight back though and has shown grit in the Loma and Linares fights and he's been competitive in both. I only see Campbell struggling if he can't handle the power. I'll stick stick to my original thoughts that Campbell as an outside bet looks the value, Garcia hasn't fought anywhere near this level yet and he's not going against someone there to pick up a paycheck. If it's close then I see him losing on the cards but I hope if he puts the performance in, he gets the result.
I was Campbell when this was announced but I am not so confident now. Will go with him because like you say it is a leap in class for garcia. This will tell us just how hard garcia really punches. Great fight to kick off 2021!!!! Actually glad it got delayed for that reason because December was good anyway
Didnt read any comments but has anybodies mind changed after seeing that ryan has definately been getting into canelos deep freezer. I stand by my prediction, ryan KO in the first half of the fight.
Is there drug testing for this fight? It's hard not to feel paranoid about these yank superstar boxers isn't it? I just hope Campbell does well cause brook and smith recently was embarrassing for the UK really.
