I reckon he wins but gets robbed again on british soil, i'd favor him to stop bellew and outclasses cleverly over 12 rounds.
this robbery didn't hurt campillo. it adds to his starpower,anyone who knows boxing will want to see more of him. we all know he beat cloud. 2 judges cannot take that away no matter how hard they try.
Ive said for a long time that Cloud isnt that good Cleverly has his hands full with Campillo and Bellew goes in an underdog
Bellew would have a better chance of beating Campillo than Cleverly. He's just a better all round operator for me, though he'd be better adding a stone and fighting at cruiser.
I've always admired Campillo as a fighter after seeing him in with Shumenov. But now that he's in effect dominated an unbeaten American champion, as another post said, his stock is going to rise throughout he boxing world. He deserved the decision without doubt but maybe like Chisora with Helenius, people will disregard the official outcome anyway. With the 2 Brits as Beeston says, Bellew would definitely have the better chance vs. Campillo. With Cleverly looking to get inside and unleash his rather weak flurries to pick up points, he'd be made to order for Campillo who has already shown with Cloud, Murat & Shumenov that he can dominate come forward fighters who leave themesleves open and vulnerable with his combination punching. But if Bellew were to fight as he did vs Cleverly and fight at range behind his jab primarily, I think he'd stand a very good chance vs Campillo. The Spaniard I've noticed has a pretty bad habit of pulling his head back with his chin in the air, which was punished by Cloud in round 1, and that could prove fatal with somebody standing at range popping out consistent straight shots. If Bellew had been in there last night landing that right hand in the first round instead, I'm not sure Campillo would have seen the 2nd in truth. I do quite like Cloud still and think he's a decent inside fighter but his main shot is that left hook. I'd say Bellew has more pop in his right hand than Cloud does in his and I could see that being more prominent in a fight with Campillo than Cloud's left hook was. With the Spaniard being a southpaw and naturally taller, he was able to partially block a lot of Cloud's short left hooks with his shoulder so wasn't punished as much as he could have been for his sloppiness when drawing his head back IMO.
i was thinking about this before i saw this thread, how he would get on with cleverly. i dont think frank would want clev in with campillo, campillo's largely unknown to all but hardcore fans and offers way too much risk. after what he did to cloud id have to fancy him to beat cleverly, and bellew for that matter.
