he can fill Hatton's shoes after he gets spanked by Pac and put into retirement.....but nah, not DLH's, mainly cuzz he's not American and i dont buy into this "Ortiz is the next Oscar" deal either, i like him, he's a great prospect but..........Oscar had 3 things that made him Oscar, Fan friendly fights, elite in-ring abilities, and the ability to make teenage guys pay money to see him fight Vic if he lives up to his potential will have the 1st two down pack, but he'll never have the last one, he's a personable guy, and a cool ***** but.........no homo, he just don't have the looks to make girls turn they head right now there is no "next Oscar" in American boxing right now, love him or hate him, but there's noone that fills those 3 criterias so noone can fill those shoes (or atleast no1 i've seen)
What - everybody let's this slide?? Let's see... - loudmouth: check - uh... comparison seems to end there. Great void fill. How about we have him fight a top-10 HW before we start with the Ali comparisons, eh? For now, he's more filling the loudmouth void left by Briggs.
haye is in his late 20s and not even a household name in his own kitcken amir khan if he improves dramatically if your talking about fighters outside the US
this is the first well thought out post. i have come accross. i dont think haye will be exactly like oscar in terms of popularity. he has a different approach to how he promotes himself. what i meant is csn he become a mainstream star like oscar was. i dont know if he will be bigger than him if he were to destroy the kiltchko's, with his body and looks. he would be massive. he has model looks like odlh is well as the style that puts asses in seats
this thread is a joke and so david haye oscar was a true champion he never spoke bad of his opponets to the dergree haye does i think haye is all talk
Hell no...haye will never have the star power that is oscar...oscar is the top dawg when it comes to the business part of the sport....he's gonna be a great promoter!
Filling the void left by Oscar I assume you mean the actual fighting because he has not walked away from the business aspect of the sport. Whoever is making the largest amount of money right now would be my guess. All they have to do is keep winning. David Haye is a long ways away from that kind of popularity.
