Hmm says I'ld say it's possible due to the fact on how JMM can seemingly adapt, adjust, and turn the fight around, especially with a speedy fighter, midway through a fight. Both are counter punching tacticians.. JMM can lay some heavy shots but his damn chin is what I'm worried about. So one shouldn't rule him a complete lost. I ain't hating on PBF, but if he loses I will laugh cause of what he said to Ray Leonard.... "You lost to Duran....a lightweight!" KARMA has a way of biting people in the ass!:good
Marquez is a great fighter but Floyd has all the advantages and would probably counter the crap outta Marquez. That's why I want to see Floyd against real, top welterweights if he comes back.
I can see this fight going JMMs way if they decide on fighting at 140 and pbf struggles to make weight. Floyd is not impossible to hit and JMM is capable of neutralizing. Speed with timing... I still wouldn't bet on JMM
I would say it's possible but not likely. Floyd would be coming off a long layoff, and though undersized, Marquez does have A class skills, something Floyd hasn't run into in a long time. However, the fight would most likely get made at 147 with PBF dictating terms, and JMM's chin isn't that great, so I doubt he could take Floyd's counters. On the flipside, I also doubt he could do much damage to Floyd since his power probably wouldn't carry high enough, besides Floyd's excellent defense. However, just given the nature of how Floyd fights, I wouldn't expect him to blow Marquez away by any stretch. Doubt the fight gets made regardless. Floyd will probably wait on the Pacquaio/Hatton winner if he's going to fight anyone.
this fight will have to happen at 143-144 or at 147. i don't think floyd will be able to make 140 especially after a long layoff. at both these weights, i favor floyd to win as jmm will be noticably slower, sluggish and have less stamina in these higher weights. floyd will also have a big size and speed advantage.
I would root for Marquez but I don't think he can beat Floyd. Floyds style would be a nigtmare for him.
147 is out of the question for JMM..... .....140 lbs is the only reasonable weight that this fight can take place and Mayweather lay claim that he beat a great fighter.... .....having said that, I want to see this fight next..... I'm telling you guys, JMM's advantage here is that he's fully capable of fighting at an extremely rapid pace with a high workrate......he's a sharpshooting, mentally strong type assasin of which the likes of Mayweather has never seen. Mayweather should be the favorite, and for the first time in JMM's career, I would not be picking him to win......but I also would'nt be suprised in the least if he managed to beat Mayweather. The one thing I feel strongly about is that the matchup is not a mismatch.....even if JMM would lose, I'm certain he's going to make Mayweather work for it. JMM imo deserves a chance to measure his immense skills against a freak like Mayweather.....bring it on!!!!!
Voted possible, but I don't think JMM wins. I don't think it'd be at 140, also, which would help JMM.
No. Zero chance. Floyd isn't gonna fight below 147. Floyd's younger, fresher, stronger, taller, faster, quicker, better reach, etc., etc. Floyd by stoppage. But, if JMM takes the fight it just adds to his standing. Great fighter.
It's possible that he'd outwork him, but only at 140 and even then it's unlikely. Floyd's just too tricky and JMM would get tagged quite often.
