JC has been in some scraps and has been knocked down but never badly hurt. I think Pavlik will have him down but can he keep him there/or stop him on his feet perhaps? Or will JC KO pavlik? These are arguably the two most determined fighters at the moment so will be an intriguing fight
i beleive pavlik has the power and finishing abilty to ko calzaghe, but if they fought i do not beleive calzaghe would give him the oppurtunity. pavlik to win by ko it would have to be very early, before calzaghe got the timing and started seeing pavlik right hand coming. once calzaghe gets his timing i think pavlik will find it very hard to get into a rythmn with his right hand as calzgahe has always been able to take away every single fighters jab, no matter how good a jab they have and it would make it very hard for pavlik then to time his right and land flush.
I don't think Joe C could KO his Granmother. Slap the **** outta her, maybe, but no KO's. Now WHEN Pavlik nails Joe & either drops him or wobbles him, its all over. Pavliks one of the best finishers in many years.
Of course he can, but I highly doubt he will. I'd love to see the fight and whether it's in Wales or Vegas i'll be there.
The problem for Pavlik will be that Calzaghe has a better chin than Taylor and keeps going for 12 rounds
Hey, but Sean...like the old song "16 Tons" goes, "If the right don't get you, then the left one will." He may have taken away many a fighters jab in the past, but he's never been up against anyone of KP's caliber. I just see Kelly finding him & when he does, if B Hop can drop him, Kelly will kill 'em.
Yes, he can, but I don't think he will. Calzaghe is still very good and hasn't showed any signs of slowing down even at the age of 36. I'd go with Calzaghe by decision.
You saw him get smashed to pieces in the 7th against Pavlik though and not have enough gas to keep going in the 2nd fight when he was outboxing Pavlik for the first half of the bout
Greatest asset of Kelly's is finishing ability - if he lands a flush right hand and stuns Joe he'll come in with uppercuts and it's goodnight. Since Joe Calzaghe couldn't KO Kelly Pavlik in his dreams he would conceivably have to go 12 rounds without getting hit with a flush right hand - tall order.
towards the end of one of the middle rds BHop tagged JC and he looked very wobbly- it looks as if his reflexes are not quite the same and I also worry about JC going back down to Supermiddle
