Eliqueiros, new to ESB, he NEVER hurt Oscar. Shane Mosley in the first fight did hurt Oscar, big difference! PBF might tap the hell out of Cotto's gloves and win a decision by it but he will not hurt Cotto any more than he did Oscar. **** Floyd, as boxing fans we should boycott that coward. He has already stated he will not fight Cotto because there is not enough "money in it." In other words, high risk, little reward. He is the best technician around but a shitty fighter. The good fight will be between Oscar and Cotto. Oscar has two fights left, this would go down in history as all out war. After all, Cotto is the new Oscar, young and undefeated, savage left hooks. Mark my words, Mayweather will not take this fight, Margarito and Williams will not be high up enough on the ladder. Cotto's next fight will be DLH on May 5. It makes business sense, and boxing sense. As Golden Boy and Top Rank say, "Big Fights."

Cotto is now one of the elites. He has his choice, Mayweather, Hatton, or DLH at 147. Mayweather will opt out, Hatton will be too easy, and one man will put him down in boxing history and pay him for his efforts. Who do you think he will fight next?

Of course he can. But the bigger factor here is that PBF can punish Cotto.

    Anybody can be hurt...

Mayweather could definitely stun Cotto with a quick shot to the chin or hurt him with a perfectly placed body shot. But stop him? I highly doubt that

Uhh, of course PBF can hurt Cotto.....I think it would an excellent fight. PBF winning an SD/UD in a great fight full of drama. Of course I would be pulling Cotto.......

I don't see Mayweather stunning Cotto or having him on the verge of a ko. I think he has enough power to get his respect and his speed can cause problems for anyone.

Just as people though they could walk through Whitaker a generation ago, who has ever seen someone just walk through Mayweather?? Cotto can and will be hurt if they fought. Corely isnt as good a puncher or as fast as Mayweather and he had Cotto on ***** street for half a round, come to think of it every top fighter Cotto has faced has hurt him. He is human, not this wrecking machine that his ardent fans assume he is....Judah hurt him, Mosely hurt him, as did ricardo Torres. Mayweather is the best fighter in the world, the best counterpuncher and one of the most accurate punchers today. If it isnt with one shot it will be by accumualtion.

Cotto is NOT walking through Mayweather, but his pressure and style can trouble him. The difference between Mayweather and Whitaker?

Whitaker was less troubled by pressure fighters than Mayweather has been. Whitaker was also better off of the backfoot. Mayweather is great off of the backfoot too, but even when Whitaker was going backwards, he was able to maintain his distance with a snappy, hard jab which he threw over and over and over.

I agree:good Whitaker was better off the backfoot and through a more consistent jab, but Mayweather has more power and more offensive than Whitaker was...it kinda balances out. Both guys were never known for physical strength but no one ever bullied them around.

As far as being troubled by pressure fighter, Mayweather struggled in the first Castillo fight the same way Whitaker did in the first Ramirez fight. People always says he has trouble with pressure but he stopped every fighter that tried that save Castillo....Chavez was stopped, Augustus was stopped, Ndou was stopped.Whitakers backpedaling hurt him and he was on Ramirez' home turf. Like Mayweather did after him, he adjusted and won the nest fight by a wide margin.

True - Mayweather is excellent against pressure fighters, but he has shown more trouble with them than did Whitaker.

Many though Castillo won the 1st fight (not me). By comparison, many believe Whitaker/Ramirez 1 was one of the biggest robberies ever.
