What are the statistics of Ryder ? Punches he lands and punches that connect him per round? Is the guy competent both attack and defense ? And was he ever hurt or knocked down during his career ?
He can. Ryder the type of fighter that can give any elite champ a hard time depending if he brings his A game on. I kinda like this fight purely because if a change from the typical Canelo story of him having to chase another guy down, or GGG simply boxing on the outside. Ryder gonna have to go for the inside and it’s been a while since Canelo faced someone willing to go with him toe to toe. That being said, Canelo should win this on account of his speed, defense and combination punching. Not having to chase Ryder should theoretically give Canelo a great advantage. But we’ll see
Damn, this fight is only next week. Where has the buildup and promo been for it? Are they just relying on the Mexican fanbase to pull this one through?
If Ryder can glue himself to Canelo's chest, smother his work, not giving him the space or proper trajectory for him to land his looping combinations. Keep him pinned to the ropes, and work him non stop with his punishing inside work and repeated right hooks, his money punch. It's not out of the question that Ryder lands something meaningful that hurts Canelo badly. Can he follow up and stop him? Not likely, but he can certainly do enough to get everyone to cry robbery when he loses a wide decision in Mexico. While I think Ryder will have a great deal of success at times, I'm not sure he'll be consistent enough closing range and staying on the inside, and I'm also terrified he's going to walk right into a vicious left hook to the ribs that ends up stopping him. It's one of the few punches he has a hard time defending against.
True man like almost every fight in boxing no wonder fighters try their best to negotiate a prepaid contract rather than individual fight by fight depending on ppv numbers, It's like there not even trying anymore, a shame for the fans.
His chances of an upset are slim but I'm counting on Ryder to make this fight be the most aesthetically pleasing Canelo fight of the last couple of years.
Why ? Is he taking his Vegas judges & ref with him. The great Mexican fight fans still haven't forgiven him for cowardly ducking GGG & meekly handing back the bogus WBC strap
I know anything can happen in boxing but I just can’t imagine Canelo losing to Ryder who is a good boxer in Canelo’s hometown.
