    I'm not sure this idea of mine will take off or not.

    But if there's enough interest I'll tally up the results at the end.

    I'm not going to do a poll, because I don't want to limit any options.

    The task here is a simple one, state which fighter you feel has the best jab, ever.

    Feel free to debate and critique but if there's enough posts I'll keep a tall as I said.

    I'll add my vote in after a few posts, if anyone cares enough to take part.

    Canto or Harada. Loughran gets an honourable mention coz I like him, but his jab gets overrated IMO.

    Loma has the most constant jab and uses it in the most skilled way, by throwing it just short making an opponent take the bait and counter. Hearns jab was probably the best because at the smaller weights he had an amazing reach advantage and great hand speed, his 1-2`s were better than everyone else`s too. I pick Hearns.

    Controversial choice. He was a bantamweight in the early 80s but never really made it to the top. Well, I guess this is a subjective sport afterall.

    Can we at least split this into smaller weights (fly-feather), (Light-welter), (middle-light heavy) then heavy? In which case...

    4b. Ali

    If I then had to pick one, I'll go with Larry as, of all of them, he would have gone farthest if the jab was the only weapon at his disposal. I doff my cap to @robert ungurean here. He bangs the drum for Larry and made a believer out of me. Prior to Robert's persuasion, I'd have gone for Tommy Hearns, a choice I reckon Robert would not have had a huge problem with. Am I right, Robert?

    Jab was pretty much all he had after he lost those fingers on his right hand. Imagine going neck and neck with Saldivar with just one punch at your disposal!
