Easily a paper champion. I can also easily see him knocking out Joshua or usyk. However he will not be a dominant champion. He simply is not into it anymore
This. It's unlikely, but definitely not as long a shot as some may think. Past performance suggests the WBC would bend over backwards to smooth the way should the opportunity arise to have the highest profile American hw fighter holding their belt. He'd need generous portions of home cooking to get a decision against any competent opponent, perhaps more than backers would deem practical at this stage of his career. If Wilder still carries his power however he has a chance. I suspect though that the Parker defeat mayput those backers off and they'll switch their backing to the new generation.
The fight with Parker was his last chance for something big, he is pretty much done, he will still beat fighters like Helenius, Ortiz, etc. without any major problems.
I don't think he can. I think he's done. The Parker fight showed this. Wilder just wasn't there mentally. He barely let his hands go did he? Plus his weird ramblings in the buildup tells me he's not the man he was. His whole personal philosophy now is weird.
Unlikely given his age. He was fortunate to win a title after they were split, maybe he could do it again if they were split again, but he'd have to have the WBC make him mandatory vs someone he can beat like when he first won it.
