Canelo Alvarez vs Michael Nunn

Nunn struggled with a finished curry too ...in those circumstances Tin Ribs describes.

However he did engage with barkley and get caught....in a fight some call a poor performance...others a fight vs a underrated tough fighter.

Im assuming tho its peak for 4 peak h2h....canelo lost to ggg in the 1st imo...and the 2nd...he was improved and ggg deterioted but still it was a draw imo..

Canelo wins a MD.

 

Canelo is far better than anybody Nunn ever beat.

 

Nunn had nowhere near the power of GGG, most of his punches were point scoring arm punches and he threw a lot of jabs, plenty of fighters went the distance with Nunn and they didn`t have Canelo`s defense and chin and they wouldn`t have gone the distance with a great finisher like GGG.

 

Canelo is a totally overrated fighter, he does not have a victory against elite level fighters like Nunn , Canelo in my opinion lost the 2 fights against GGG, and has several other doubtful ones; Lara, Trout, Jacobs ... he was also clearly losing against Kahn and Kovalev before the nokauts ...
Nunn in his prime was a tremendous fighter, well above the level of Canelo or the rivals that Canelo has faced.
Another fact, do not forget that Nunn knocked out Kalambay in 1 round, it was Kalambay's only defeat by nokaut and I can also add that Canelo was rocked against Cotto's brother.
Without a doubt prime Nunn could knock out Canelo

 

Kovalev didn`t land a punch, just kept jabbing at Canelo`s high guard, he wouldn`t throw his right hand because he feared Canelo`s counter hook, Kahn wsn`t doing much just running around throwing flashy combos, landing a few here and there, it was just a matter of time before he made one of his usual mistakes and got tagged, Canelo was just working him out, then took care of him using his much better fundamentals, Nunn wa like a 160 version of Khan, good reach and a lot of speed, but dreadful fundamentals, Canelo is on a different level as was GGG.

 

Lol this is not happening, Nunn isn't stopping Canelo.

Not a fan of Canelo in the slightest, a cheating ginger wanker in my eyes, but I still have to admit he's a true elite level fighter.

 

How many former 160 champs could take Nunn`s power? Canelo is far from fragile and very hard to hit due to his tight guard.

 

This one. Prime Nunn is a level above Canelo. Look for a lopsided decision UD for Nunn. Hand speed, foot speed, reflexes, height, reach, punch output...just so much is in Nunn's favour.This would be worse than the Mayweather fight for Canelo

 

Interesting fight .. not sure ..

 

Mayweather was P4P better than Nunn.
