    Its even bigger than that.

Al Haymon tried to screw over Canelo Alvarez who is probably the most popular and famous boxer today. All these young guys coming up dreaming of big money and big cars and dozens of ladies...they gonna have 2nd and 3rd thoughts before signing w Al and PBC

Why PBC would think those fights were worth a $35 million guarentee per fight is beyond me. Nobody were demanding those fights, and you don't have to be a scholar to know PBC would end up losing money on those fights. PBC totally ****ed up big time with that deal.

Al Haymon really fcuked up hard.

David Benevidez should be asking the question as to how much are PBC invested in him? He needs to get out of there!!

Because they have been living in a bubble for so long that they believe the only boxing fans care about is PBC.

Because Canelo was supposed to be this era's DLH/Floyd/Manny and do a million+ buys with each fight. Instead, they wound up with the semi-retired, semi-entertaining version who is only getting 600-700k with each fight.

The Spence fight would have been worth 35 million, though, IMO... especially if he'd handled TC.

Canelo bringing 700k buys to the table is more than enough. Its not his fault that he was put in the ring vs Charlo who brings no fans to the table.

The Charlo's are just other examples of the PBC failing to build fighters into stars. Pay them a fortune for years, let them fight whoever they want while being overpaid with the end result being no box office star built.

Did he not agree to the Charlo fights? He is partially responsible, no?

How so? He signed up for a deal that PBC were happy to give him. Its the promoters job to ensure his own show doesnt lose money and draws enough PPV buys.

If you enter a contract to build three single unit houses for a developer, you give him your standard price which he agrees too, and after you build the first house the developer tells you that since he hasn't found anyone to lease the house he's going to pay you almost half less of what your standard price for the second home, unless you agree to build the third house a mansion. Are you going to accept that?

On the flip side it would be like the Charlo fight drawing well above expectations and then Canelo asks the PBC for a bigger guarantee for his 2nd fight if they want him to fight 3 times. Nobody would be supporting that.

Contracts are there for a reason.

So you think poor Canelo was forced to fight the charlos and he was powerless during negotiations, rather than he demanded those fights all along because they were obvious lay up wins? Canelo fans are literally living in another reality. Its not Canelo's fault he was forced to fight Charlo!!!

If Haymon told you, here are three easy fights. I'll pay you 105 million for those three fights. What are you doing?

Haymon would never do that and give up the most lucrative fight in the sport. Only someone with zero brains would think that was plausible. Haymon literally gave Canelo a 45m offer to fight Benavidez in June 2023, before the 3 fight deal and he ducked it. They wanted Benavidez FIRST. Stop defending your hero, he let you down.
