I have some more press scores to share. All of them just happen to be one-sided in favor of Canelo.

    The Athletic 10-2 Canelo

Alvarez remains undisputed super middleweight champion with dominant win

Canelo Cruises to win over GGG

Morgan Campbell of the New York Times stated that Canelo won "possibly by shutout". Then after the judges scores were announced, he adjusted his stance and said "Realistically, Canelo appeared to have won 10 rounds."

"The right fighter won, but by the wrong scores. Team Golovkin had worried before the fight that judges would lean toward Canelo, but those scorecards say Golovkin received every benefit of every doubt,"

    https://www.nytimes.com/live/2022/09/17/sports/canelo-ggg-boxing

Kevin Draper stated that the official scores were "much closer than I had the fight".

Draper on Round 9 : "Closest round of the fight so far, but probably still goes to Álvarez."

Campbell on Round 10: "Golovkin is now happy to rumble at close quarters, and is having more success. But is he winning rounds? Probably not the 10th. The definitive punch came from Álvarez, a sharp left hook to the ribcage caused Golovkin to pause and take a step back. Golovkin is resurgent but Álvarez remains in control."

So despite GGG doing better, the NYT scorers still favored Canelo in Rounds 9 and 10.

In Round 11 Kevin noted that GGG is "taking just about as much as he’s giving."

These comments confirm my view of these rounds that while GGG did better, they were still very even and possibly Canelo rounds, which makes a shutout plausible.

World Boxing News had it 117-111 Canelo with Canelo winning Rounds 1-8 and Round 12.

Canelo completely dominated the early stages of the fight, beating Golovkin to the punch on almost every exchange. ‘Triple G’ couldn’t come up with much more than a jab, whist his Mexican opponent cycled through his range of available artillery.

The Mexican’s success continued, and with each round a win for ‘GGG’ became ever more unlikely. In fact, such was Álvarez’ early dominance that it’s hard to make a case for the 40-year-old taking any of opening 6 rounds. Despite upping the tempo in the later stages, ‘Triple G’ never troubled Canelo, who ended up cruising to victory.

I feel GGG clearly won round one. Canelo has the quicker flashier hands but was un effective. Round six was close, round 8 as well, 9-12 was GGG'S.

You believe Canelo vs Bivol was close right?

Always remember, GGG was robbed twice as all know, and GGG while not even trying easily went the distance with Canelo at 40 years old. Canelo, no matter how hard he tried couldnt faze GGG. GGG had Canelo on the run the last four rounds of the fight and exhausted. Canelo looked old and GGG looked fresh.

"while not even trying". How sad. Imagine being in the fight of your life and not even trying?

By the way, why do you reckon GGG didn't even try?

Maybe he was threatened. Maybe he just wanted to take the least amount of punishment as possible because he is close to retirement. His son has been wanting him to retire. Actually, its a strange performance, maybe a strategy that didn't pan out. In interviews with Banks prior to the fight, Banks said they were focusing on boxing and not power, because GGG already hits hard.

Banks was interviewed during the fight. He sounded very frustrated at how GGG was fighting. I'm sorry but how GGG fought was even more pathetic than if he came to fight and got sparked out. To just choose to not fight like that and create a boring fight is unacceptable, especially when it's Mr. Big Drama Show, the guy who called out Canelo for supposedly not giving the fans an exciting enough fight. How GGG fought is pathetic. If he was planning on fighting in such a way he shouldn't have even fought. After that performance, it's clear that GGG is just a complete sell-out. All he did is show up for a peydey, the way he fought was a slap in the face to boxing and frankly GGG fans should be embarrassed to be a GGG fan after that pathetic non-competitive performance.

I'm not embarrassed, he already beat Canelo twice, but it makes me skeptical about future fights. If thats the best he could do then fine, he is almost finshed and might as well get out, but if he fights like he did vs Murata i'm in.

What were the press scores for the 2nd fight? That was the closest one.

Canelo was the beneficiary of multiple shady decisions, as well as being suspended for two failed drug tests, should you be talking about Golovkin shame as a Canelo fan? Golovkin is 40 and Canelo couldn't dent him.

For the millionth time, the drug tests were due to meat contamination. That's a nothing burger to anyone aware of the problem in Mexico. What about having close decisions is there to be embarrassed about as a fan? Those close decisions were against difficult fighters that he didn't need to take on. He took risks and had close fights. Get over it. As far as not being able to dent GGG, you're talking to someone who told you that neither fighter was getting a stoppage because both fighters have iron chins. GGG isn't any less strong or durable than he was 4-5 years ago, I saw no reason why there was any reason to expect Canelo to hurt him. The people who claimed that would happen imho DKSAB. Realistically the only chance that someone was getting hurt was if both guys went to war and created a fan friendly fight. GGG didn't do that, he made it boring. That's on him, not Canelo.

When Canelo said he wanted to KO him, he probably expected GGG to make it more of a fight, he probably thought GGG would be motivated to do anything to win and he would be able to catch him in between punches in the midst of a firefight. GGG fought way too conservatively for those openings to present themself. You are trying to act like because he's 40 that GGG all of a sudden became chinny and that it would be easier to stop GGG now. You sound like a casual honestly. You know full well that GGG is as tough and as durable as they come. Your arguments are really weak as to why Canelo fans should be embarrassed. GGG though showed himself to be a hypocrite. He made it seem like Canelo didn't give the fans an exciting enough fight the first time, even though it was a thrilling and highly entertaining 12 rounds. For me it was by far the best fight of the trilogy, but GGG didn't like that kind of a fight because of how frustrating that was for him. Canelo comes out the rematch fighting the way GGG asked for, GGG proceeds to become the boxer and throw a light jab all night. In the 3rd fight the transformation of GGG was complete from Mr. Big Drama Show to Mr. No Show. That's embarrassing, to claim to be the fighter who wants a toe to toe war to then back away from that kind of a fight when your opponent obliges 2x. Not a good look for GGG.

GGG jabbed Canelo silly in the 2nd fight with power jabs the won the championship rounds like he did in the 3rd fight only better. Where you come up with this light jab stuff is anybody's guess.

You have no respect or trust for the boxing media do you? They have had the complete opposite opinion as you did. They had GGG winning the first and 2nd fight by a land slide, and you oddly had Canelo winning both. You should be applauding us for disagreeing with your nemesis, the boxing media on the score alone that is. We did however agree with who won.
