What about the Jacobs fight? Both Canelo - Lara and Triple G - Jacobs were close debatable decisions. Both Jacobs and Lara hit the canvas in those fights, Gennady got a Knockdown after stepping on Danny's Foot and falling down with him. Lara lost his footing backpedaling after Canelo landed punches on him but it was ruled a slip. If you wanna talk about lucky stuff then look at that those two situations and ask yourself who was more fortunate, Triple G or Canelo?

Overall, they were both close fights and both Lara and Jacobs have good boxing skills. Lara has a 74" reach though while Jacobs only has a 73" reach. So Lara is a little more rangey than Danny. Danny on the other hand is taller than Lara. With Canelo vs Lara I don't think the body work he put in had anything to do with luck. I personally wouldn't call either result lucky, the knockdowns or lack thereof are debatable though. I thought Danny landed more significant punches on Triple G than Lara landed on Canelo. Watch the two fights back to back and study Jacobs and Lara's body language. Lara was running away more than Danny and Lara at times looked scared of Canelo and just unwilling to step into the pocket and land real punches. Lara spent most of the fight backpedaling and just jabbing from the outside with an occasional straight right hand. Jacobs on the other hand was more willing to engage with Triple G and actually set up big punches. I thought Jacobs punches had more of an impact on Triple G than Lara's had on Canelo, and I thought Jacobs were more crowd pleasing. Who do you think would win if Jacobs fought Lara?

That's the first time I saw Canelo fight. Back then he was of course much younger and inexperienced. But what if it was Golovkin landing those shots?

I think Lara won that fight, anyway it was a close one and I dont have any problem with Canelo winning that, however, the 117-111 card was disgraceful, Canelo had luck.
Golovkin won a close decision vs Jacobs, thats true, BUT, Golovkin clearly won, landing more punches in 8 out of 12 rounds and scored a knockdown, I dont agree, look at compubox http://www.*******.com/golovkin-vs-jacobs-compubox-punch-stats--114756

Golovkin respected Jacobs power, he hit like a truck...Lara isnt featherfisted, but he hasnt got half the power Jacobs has. Lara landed big punches on Canelo face and Canelo felt those bombs, I remember GGG didnt even blink when Jacobs landed on him.
I think Jacobs would beat Lara, but that wouldnt be a fair fight since Jacobs is much bigger. Lara is very slick and fast and would be winning on score cards until Jacobs catch him, but thats only my opinion

I think Jacobs would beat Lara and make it look easier than anybody would believe.

Let's not forget, both he and Golovkin were holding back some for the fear of getting caught by the others' power. Lara was running from Canelo because he knew he couldn't hurt him and Canelo could likely hurt him. A Jacobs that isnt scared of letting his hands fly would be bad, bad news for Lara.

Agree, Jacobs would throw much more and Lara would run like he did vs Canelo but Jacobs would land a big punch on Lara sooner than later since he has more reach and has faster feets than Canelo,

its a good fight. im usually not biased. but however i do have my favorite fighters. or some times i just want certain fighters to really win . and honestly i just want ggg to win i like him. but my honest opinion the smart pick would be canelo.

hes younger and he wants to keep the future of boxing his. if he looses hes not the future. hes just in the mix with other top fighters. but right now hes the man in boxing as far as ppvs an all that so a loss to canelo is huge and he will fight his hardest to keep this going. so there some good motivation. not to mention his big fight experience. he draws big numbers n big crowds and fights vs trout, lara, and mostly mayweather are big fights canelo has under his belt. all ggg has really had is jacobs. canelo continues to improve and not to mention canelo most likely dominated negotiations because ggg is getting old and kinda has to accept some bs before he gets to old n cant even compete at this level. i think canelo has lots of advantages.
