I gave credit to Canelo after the first fight. It's just that everything else around him detracts from focusing attention on his undeniably elite skills. The constant biased cards. The greasy ass-abusing promoter. His giant ego. The PED abuse. His custom weight classes. etc He's made his path very uncomfortable and that's regardless of whether I am a GGG fan or not.
I had GGG winning by 1 but no doubt if I watch that fight 10 times I’ll have 10 different scores. So many close rounds Got a lot of respect for Canelo. Walked him down and never stopped. Took some bombs and came back firing his own.. hopefully he has a long reign as champ cos he is exciting
Ive gotta say i never thought Canelo could hack it at Middleweight and ive now seen him hack it against the monster of the Middleweight division, twice. Whether he illegaly plaster wraps his hands, whether he illegaly takes PEDs and whether Oscar pays his judges off, hes gets away with it all and he stood with Golovkin for 24 rounds.
He is indeed a beast. You are what you eat and he's eaten a ranch load of Mexican bovine beasts. Mooooo!
Dude, Clenelo is much more popular than Golovkin. The overwhelming majority of writers, media, and the general boxing public all have GGG winning both fights. Why can't you come to terms with the fact that Clenelo received TWO gifts?
Sugar Ray Leonard had to wait until Hagler was well past his expiration date and then had to resort to ineffective flurries that did zero damage to fool the judges....anyone think GGG would have beat SRL? Leonard unlike Mayweather fought everyone at their prime: Roberto Duran and Tommy Hearns were as different style wise as possible and he beat them both after taking an ass whipping for the majority of the rounds.
GGG got outboxed in the first fight and outfought in the second fight, you need to come to terms with it, it's done and over with already. What you need to do is worryabout who pac is going to fight next.
I was pulling for GGG and was very confident he'd score a KO around 7-8th round. Canelo fought like a MAN and won this fight. Felt like 7-5, if not 8-4. He was the one holding the center of the ring and driving Golovkin back, ripping the body, countering, throwing in combination. GGG tried to win the fight with the jab, hook and occassional uppercut. Afraid to let the right hand go. Tentative all night until he went for it in the championship rounds. Too little , too late. Canelo is the future of the sports, no question about it.
Mayweather and Trout fights happened more than 5 years ago. Irrelevant. Canelo is now a much better boxer than he was back then.
