even tho i would want cotto to win and will be rooting for him in that fight SIZE is the factor in this one. everyone knows cotto is not a middle weight, let alont lightmiddle. Second, everyone knows canelo is really a MIDDLE WEIGHT draining down to lightmiddle.
i see cotto tagging canelo all he wants and canelo ends up over powering cotto on sheer SIZE alone and taking his best punches wich is the left hook. TKO stoppage for canelo if so he better step up and fight GGG and pick on someone his own size for a change. props to canelo for the lara fight he did better than i expected but honestly lara beat himself for not throwing more knowing that the golden egg will get the nodd if it was close.

Im a BIG cotto fan and im scared for him when he takes this fight cus we all know its going to happen cotto is a G and takes on mountains knowing the risks. the size is the factor. BIGGER YOUNGER FRESHER TALLER vs SMALLER OLDER SHOP WORN SHORTER missmatch hope im wrong

I will never bet on Cotto at this weight class. That said he always has a chance. But I still believe this guys are just too big for him. Yes, he has won a few fights because he is that good. I just fell its just matter of time.

I am a Cotto's fan and will love to see him beat Canelo. But I just have my doubts especially against such a young fighter

Let's see if Canelo has the cajones. Let's see if he agrees to fight GGG NOW.

Cotto at even weight would give CANelo hell. Sadly, Canelo is just another fighter whose biggest talent is making weight. Does anybody see Canelo going up 1 or 2 divisions? He would get killed by guys his own size.

canelo overrated at this point yes he is. But the thing is this he is 23 and being mentioned in the same breath and conversation with the best of his contemporaries who have been in the game longer than he has. very promising future he can only get better since at this point he has very limited skills. But what he lacks in skills the judges make up for him on their score cards :rasta

Lara was a guy who thought he can win buy landing a few punches on the backfoot, he may have won the fight it he was little more aggressive.

I had no problem with the decision as I felt it could have gone either way (I had it 7-5 Lara), except for the judging giving Canelo 9 rounds. It was a very close fight IMO.

I was never that impressed with Canelo and I still am not. Maybe because of the expectations and talk about him being the next "Mexican star" following the likes of Chavez, Morales, Barrera, Marquez....They are all great fighters, Chavez an ATG, while Canelo I have always seen as a "good" fighter. I still feel the same way.

What I felt was disappointing about Canelo's performance, in addition to him not being that effective at cutting off the ring, was that he seemed to have everything in his favor after the 8th. All the momentum was in his favor, he had won the last 2, 3 rounds, maybe more, and Lara was cut. I expected Canelo to dominate from there on and win in convincing matter.

Canelo did hardly anything from rounds 9 to 11. It wasn't all Canelo being bad, it was also good work from Lara, but regardless, it was a pretty disappointing finish for Alvarez.
