Your talking about Lara, the guy that beat Canelo? The guy that had a draw and competitive loss to Martyirosyan, who GGG destroyed RIP

Sturm fought Ronald Hearns, come on now. Dude was really milking it. He went life and death with Macklin and Murray, to excellent contenders unless they are fighting GGG, then they are bums. GGG was just that much better.

No i'm not here's some scorecards here from various members, just because you want to give gift Golovkin unofficial wins and want to ignore his own controversial wins.

    Round 1: 10-9 Golovkin

    Round 3: 10-9 Jacobs
    Round 4: 10-8 Golovkin

    Round 6: 10-9 Jacobs
    Round 7: 10-9 Jacobs
    Round 8: 10-9 Jacobs
    Round 9: 10-9 Golovkin
    Round 10: 10-9 Jacobs

    I'll post this in here.

Alright yesterday I might have been a little influenced by my peers who I was watching the fight with and under the influence as well. I thought Danny put up a wide scorecard but after rewatching the fight minutes ago, I have to say it was a very close fight.

I saw GGG doing the better work early, but seemed to fade in the middle and later rounds. I don't know what I can truly contribute that to, other than GGG finally being in a fight with someone who was the best he's ever fought.

GGG didn't look like he knew what to do when Jacobs would do a little switch hitting. At times he looked confused, and once Jacobs got his confidence he looked to be gaining the momentum, which he did. He wasn't afraid of GGG and I think that could have played a role on GGG'S psyche going into the championship rounds. Great performance from Jacobs, but I'm not buying into the excuse that GGG is now "over the hill"...

    1.) GGG
    2.)GGG
    3.)Jacobs
    4.)GGG
    5.)GGG
    6.)Jacobs
    7.)Jacobs
    8.)Jacobs
    9.)GGG
    10.)Jacobs
    11.)Jacobs
    12.)Jacobs

My final score is: 114-113 Daniel Jacobs.

Now the 12 round which alot of people gave to GGG I have to disagree on. I think both fighters were title 4 tat in the first minute of the round, but then Jacobs just started out working GGG with body shots and quick combos on the inside and also finished the round strong. So that's why I gave Jacobs that round. He just looked to do the better work that round and took advantage of GGG trying to land that big shot, which he missed several times. Very good fight!

    1. 10-9 Jacobs
    2. 10-9 Jacobs, 20-18 Jacobs
    3. 10-9 Jacobs, 30-27 Jacobs
    4. 10-8 Golovkin, 38-37 Jacobs
    5. 10-9 Golovkin, 47-47
    6. 10-9 Jacobs, 57-56 Jacobs
    7. 10-9 Jacobs, 67-65 Jacobs
    8. 10-9 Jacobs, 77-74 Jacobs
    9. 10-9 Golovkin, 86-84 Jacobs
    10. 10-9 Golovkin, 95-94 Jacobs
    11. 10-9 Jacobs, 105-103 Jacobs
    12. 10-9 Golovkin, 114-113 Jacobs

    114-113 Jacobs

I could also see 114-113 and 115-112 Golovkin. A few rounds could have gone either way in my opinion. No robbery, but certainly a close, competitive fight.

    SquaredCircle, Mar 19, 2017

    My card:
Round 1: 10-9 Golovkin (very close, but Golovkin kept the pace under control and was jabbing more).
Round 2: 9-10 Jacobs (very close, Jacobs appeared to be slightly more in control).
    Round 3: 9-10 Jacobs (close)
    Round 4: 10-8 Golovkin (clear)
    Round 5: 10-9 Golovkin (clear)
    Round 6: 9-10 Jacobs (clear)
Round 7: 9-10 Jacobs (close, solid Golovkin shots at the end).
Round 8: 10-9 Golovkin (close, but more of the solid Golovkin shots at the end).
Round 9: 10-9 Golovkin (clear to me).
    Round 10: 9-10 Jacobs (clear).
Round 11: 9-10 Jacobs (clear, Golovking tired, does not find the range).
Round 12: 9-10 Jacobs (close, but Jacobs kept it under control, he had more left).

114-113 Jacobs. I would not call it a robbery, but I feel you have to give Golovkin all close rounds to see him as the winner.

    Rematch is in order.

RD 1: 10-9 Golovkin (could've gone either way)
    RD 2: 10-9 Jacobs
    RD 3: 10-9 Jacobs
RD 4: 10-8 Golovkin (knockdown scored)
    RD 5: 10-9 Golovkin
    RD 6: 10-9 Jacobs
    RD 7: 10-9 Jacobs
RD 8: 10-9 Golovkin (last 30-45 secs swung it to Gennady)
    RD 9: 10-9 Golovkin
    RD 10: 10-9 Jacobs
    RD 11: 10-9 Jacobs
    RD 12: 10-9 Jacobs

Had Jacobs ahead 114-113 after the final round. Won't sit here and act like I ever expected Jacobs to survive the distance, let alone be in a close fight with Triple G. Props to him though, because his story is one of triumph when it comes to the human spirit.

Like Ward-Kovalev (somewhat), this one will be getting a re-watch with the sound off.

Legends has it that it was GGG's destruction of Lemieux that caused Tyson Fury to retire after Klitschko.

GGG defended the WBA super title 15 times (13) by Ko. The WBA was one of the two that existed back in the 1970's and 80's. No reason to down play his 15 devastating defenses. It was easier to unify back in the day. When Monzon won the title it was already unified or lineal. He beat some better guys, some hall of famers from the welterweights and super welterweight divisions. Again GGG has 22 title defenses in the reigns ,20 in the first. Not just defenses, devastating KO'S.

Meanwhile here is that fight broken down punch by scoring punch. Golovkin outlands Jacobs by a wide margin:

I actually voted both because their careers complement each other. Canelo turned out to be a Mexican legend and GGG was the dominant middleweight ko king and they had a great trilogy together. Neither needs to down play the other, and the fans can decide who they think really won their fights. They are both greats and both will go to the IBHOF!
