Well yeah. Remember, Canelo was daring to be great. He got pigheaded and Bivol chopped him down with ease. Canelo is the lucky one though. Imagine if he had faced Beterbiev, Makabu or Usyk first like he was thinking of doing.

Those 3 would've ended his career in brutal fashion. Luckily though he had some common sense to instead pick the most gentle guy out of 4 options he looked at.

If the Usyk fights didn't happen he would "destroy and KO" Usyk, too. Same with a "prime" 260lb Andy Ruiz. This guy Joshua destroys everyone on internet forums and then says NO MAS in the ring against Andy.

He did beat Otto Wallin though.

Great Post Frank You hit it on the head. Ginger got SPANKED!!!! He barely won a round Even his personal Vegas judges couldn't save him Though they tried hard they made a one sided beat down into a close fight with their ludicrous scorecards. Ginger got exposed He'll never fight Benavidez, Beterbiev or rematch Bivol, he doesn't have the intestinal fortitude, as my old coach used to say

    Just a few things:

Canelo used to have good combination punching but he no longer does - and hasnt for years.

Canelo did not "shamelessly" duck GGG for "years". He was given 15 days to agree to fight GGG. Link usually doesnt work...is from the bscene:

    https://www.*******.com/loeffler-cotto-canelo-get-15-days-agree-on-ggg--97093

How Canelo or Cotto could be dictated to was beyond me, but it happened. Canelo beat Cotto at 155 (Cotto's demand) and GGG demanded the fight at 160 (despite offering Rosado a CW of 157 a year or so prior. Again, the weight was only relevant since Canelo won the belt at the 155lb CW. So Canelo dropped the 155lb belt, fought and stopped Liam Smith at 154, fought and beat JCC Jr at 164 CW then fought GGG at 160.

    This whole story that GGG was ducked for "years" is absolute FAKE NEWS. GGG got Canelo - at most - 1 year later, but even that is untrue as GGG was trying to dictate terms...as the challenger. And in the rematch GGG complained about the judges (rightfully) and drug testing (rightfully) and - in a bizarre twist - how much noise Canelo lockerroom made, how long Canelo's beard was, Canelo's handwraps, Canelo's gloves, etc;

    https://nesn.com/2017/09/beardgate-gggs-camp-concerned-about-length-of-canelo-alvarezs-beard/

I had GGG going 1-0-1 in first 2 Canelo fights. I'm not a Canelo or GGG fanboy but mainstream media allowed GGG to behave like a diva. Fight couldve happened sooner w a CW - dont see why it was a problem since Rosado was offered a CW and Rolls fight happened at CW

Heart of a warrior? He tried to outbox Mayweather in a fight he should have sold his soul out and gone out on his shield. Yet he didn't and was trying to counter punch the counter puncher. He beat a bunch of 168lbs that I don't think half the people on here have heard of. He beat a FADED Kovalev and "his" fans were the only ones who believed that was a great win. He chose Bivol and it backfired. He goes back to "finish" his enemy, AKA GGG, and can't even finish a past his prime fighter.

SMH. Burronelo is happy to continue fighting against hopeless fighters, and laugh all the way to the bank.

The Mainstream media doesn't control ziltch. The people that control the sport should be the COMMISSIONS, they have the power to control. Instead they just seem to turn a blind eye to the corruption that has really brought the sport to his knees WHY is this ???????? I have my own opinions & I'm sure many others of you have the same opinions Like the old saying says !!!! Money is the Root of All Evil !!!!

Everyone on here that didnt know better said Bivol had no punch & was feather fisted !!!! Ginger Wonder believed that & Bivol cleaned his clock for him Exposed him. That's why Ginger totally refuses to rematch Bivol at 168 he knows he'll get another but whipping& reason he refuses Benavidez, & Beterbiev too
Its YOU that has the Canelo Derrangement syndrome You idolize a cheater & & fraud but claim to be a boxing fan lol

He's been on the slide since the Bivol fight imo, but he's still fighting at an elite level.

Don’t you think you came out a bit harsh, bud? If I remember correctly, at that time the 175lb titlists were Beterbiev, Joe Smith and Bivol. Artur was, and still is considered, the best and a destroyer. Joe Smith was the least polished but still young, prime, game, heavy-handed and was much bigger than Alvarez. That left Bivol. On paper he posed the least threat and was smaller than Artur and Joe; and that’s who Clenelo chose. While some people may have picked him over Alvarez I don’t recall too many saying he’d whitewash Saul, be unfazed by his punches and dog walk him.
Given that Clenelo is known for bullsh!t catchweights, rehydration clauses, dropping belts to avoid his mandatory fight with Golovkin and instead fighting Amir Khan and JCC Jr, it’s reasonable to believe that Bivol was a cherrypick; just a pick that went horribly wrong for him.
