Failed a test, should receive a ban like anyone else would. Unless you're a Mexican fighting for a WBC belt a la Luis Nery.

I'd be fuming if I were GGG. Got shafted on the cards last time out and now this. Nothing will happen though. WBC have also said they believe him to be innocent and Mendoza of the WBA said "it adds some drama to the fight". Absolutely abhorrent.

I think people are missing the point.

The levels were in the accepted range for contaminated meat therefore he receives no ban or punishment. Vada have acted according to the rules.

Does anyone really believe that these trace levels of clenbuterol would have a performance enhancing effect! It's common knowledge that it's widely used in the meat industry and someone with Canelo's revenue would have access to better medicines and doctors.

Has everyone forgotten about Canelo's onging row with the WBC! It's an obvious smear campaign.

The commission could still say no fight if they wanted but yes you are right the levels found have been deemed as low enough to give him benefit of the doubt.

not weird that someone with 'canelos revenue' doesnt have access to better meat too?

why bring the WBC into it, they've brushed it under the carpet?

he has a banned substance in his system... should be zero tolerance the same rule should also apply to everyone.

He has a banned substance in his ystem ... a substance often used as a PED.

Because VADA work with the WBC.

If he had masking agents in his system it would show up in testing too.

Why if it's within the accepted range for contaminated meat? They have acted according to the rules. It is both suspicious and plausible. According to your logic people who are not guilty of any wrongdoing will be banned.

They haven’t acted according to the rules. He is over the limit for a banned substance. All they are saying is it is within the expected limit one would expect if someone had ate contaminated meat I.e it could have been caused by contaminated meat but equally could have been caused by him juicing.

It doesn’t matter if it’s plausible or not. Doping rules are strict liability so it doesn’t matter how the drug got there he’s in breach of the rules if he tests positive. It has to be that way otherwise you get people saying “I have never knowingly taken a banned substance because my trainer/doctor/nutritionist gives me things and I never ask what’s in them”. Any sportsman has to be responsible for what they put in their body otherwise you may as well not have doping rules.

a tiny bit of Clen is not worth having....even high doses wont help THAT much and lead to horrible shakes that will not help boxing at all...and it is known that Mexican beef has got Clen in,unlike Manchester Boar with Nandralone!

I do believe Canelo has had PEDs ,especially before GGG fight ..but imo this is just a storm in a tea cup

    exactly

Canelo will have access to the very best PEDs ,many of which will not even be known/detectable to testers....a trace amount of Clen is not worth the hassle, even a large amount is not worth it.....

people on their high horses is unbelievable

    yes....a non story

if he had high testosterone/nandralone/winstrol levels then yes there should be a ban and outcry...

a trace of clen is a non story....
