He is set to fight Rocky Fielding on December 15th for the WBA Super MW belt. How in the world is Fielding the WBA champion when he got KO'd by Callum Smith in the first round? Fielding was dropped again in the 2nd round in his next fight but managed a win. Smith is still undefeated but he doesn't hold the title. Go figure. It's a joke that Canelo would even want this fight but we all know why. So he can claim he is a 3 division champion. Fielding is made to order for Canelo.

Give the guy a ducking break so you expect him to fight pound for pound stars every fight , in truth no one expected him to fight again so quickly .

I am fine with this fight and no doubt in May may 2019 it will be a blockbuster fight !

Half of Golovkins title defenses were of the same WBA regular belt Rocky Feldman has. lol.

This fight is indeed a cherry pick though , but what if it leads to a fight against a real 168 champ like Smith or Zelda.. If that happens Canelo is on the road to p4p greatness.
He could just be testing the waters against Rocky in preparation for another fight. There's no point in taking the fight otherwise cos he'll only be laughed at if he thinks beating Rocky makes him multi divisional champ up to 168.

If it was Golovkin fighting Fielding, you'll be all over that fight as if it was Ali vs Frazier III all over again. Idiot.

He cherry picks Floyd style, big names but when the time is right and a few little legal, illegal advantages somewhere along the line. But as for jumping up a weight to pick jump on an easy target with a world title so what, its been done for so long in this sport, i bet he wasnt the only one at 160 eying that belt up

Nah, Golovkin wouldn't take the fight, understanding how ludicrous it would appear. No, instead the WBC tells Golovkin he must fight Charlo. Now, what kind of logic is that? Golovkin is 36, Canelo is 28, the same age as Charlo and is the champion but they tell GGG, the loser, to fight Charlo, a much tougher fight than Canelo against Fielding. Stop with the nonsense.

Yesterday Oscar said that they are going to do the GGG trilogy no doubt. Next May or September is a possible date.

I think in May they are going to do a unification fight with Smith, then GGG trilogy.

But that fight could happen at 168 so they don’t have to mess with weight cutting.

Golovkin fought Vanes , so of course he would love to fight Feldman.

Vanes was one of the worst cherry picks ive ever witnessed. It was a disgrace.

Right, so choosing a soft touch on 2-3 weeks notice after Canelo messed up is the worst cherry pick you’ve seen?

Man, you’re either dumb or haven’t seen much. Or both actually.

Canelo failed the test TWO months before Golovkin fought Vanes so he had ample time to fight somebody decent.

He also had the option to push the date back , but he was only to happy to fight a retired guy who never fought at MW.
He actually gave up a belt for that bum fight. Disgraceful. One of the worst cherry picks Ever

    Absolute terrible choice
But he got paid to sell those titles to gbp
Terrible legacy decision but excellent business decision that set up himself and his kids for life

For most people/fighters its all about money, GGG is no exception. GGG could be set for life with his career earnings, and even with the earnings from the first Canelo fight. He could have been a multi-millionaire and could have broken Hopkin's record, unified the division, and had a much better resume and career, but I guess the 30 million+ he made throughout his career wasn't as good as having 40 million+.

Its rare to have a fighter like Canelo who doesn't put money over legacy and pride.
