I heard Oscar say, on ESPN Deportes that he had something like this planned. He said he wanted to do something major where he'd have 3 or more stellar fights in one event. So it could be real.

A Southpaw?? Canelo has stated many times, that while he was growing up, his first teachings were with a southpaw (his brother). He says that he feels more comfortable fighting a southpaw because of this. We will find out.

I'm only objecting the notion of Canelo being on the undercard if Trout is the opponent. That fight, in GBP's eyes, is too risky/good to be used like that. But if it's a crappy non-threatening opponent, then I agree, they'll put him on like they did in those occasions you've mentioned.

Rhodes was punished more when in Southpaw mode, then when orthodox.:good HBO pointed it out too.

Just sounds like he was messed up.

Whatever. Who arrests people at 4:30 am on New Year's? Brutal.

He'll pay a fine with no other penalty or record.

Hope he wasn't part of the fight, but it sounds like employee's are fingering him involved in a fight. I see he was taken for public intoxication though...

How the **** does the featherfisted Austin "I can't put anyone's lights out" Trout stop Kid Ginger? He couldn't stop the likes of Delvin Rodriguez, Rigoberto Alvarez...with the exception of a tomato can in Frank LoPorto, he hasn't stopped ANYONE since March 2009. He couldn't even stop a glass skinned, undersized, gassed out Cotto, despite having three rounds of a sitting duck Miguel to get it done. His power is simply negligible.

Trout has NO power on the elite level. None. He won't be able to deter Canelo in the slightest. Unless he gets a massive ring to run and spoil in, Canelo walks him down and breaks him down with accurate, explosive combinations to the head and body. Canelo is much bigger, stronger, and has superior handspeed and power to Cotto. Even a tiny Cotto wasn't having much trouble hitting Trout for most of that fight until he gassed. If Trout even takes half of the number of shots from Canelo that he took from Cotto, Trout is getting mulched into cat food if not outright KTFO.

If Canelo had a shitty right hand or was technically crude, you might have something, but Canelo has an outstanding right hand, be it a counter, lead, or as part of a combination, and he is going to be unable to miss Trout with it. Trout is easily hittable, and being a southpaw won't help him avoid it much. Canelo by TKO or UD if Trout goes into survival mode. Either way, no way that Trout wins this fight if it happens.

Has Canelo been in with a true 154 fighter has he been in with a fighter with a jab what about someone with stamina you dont need to have great power to TKO a fighter.Who did you have when he fought Cotto?

I made no prediction on the fight based on not having seen much of Trout beforehand. I usually only make predictions when I've seen a respectable amount of tape on both fighters involved in an upcoming fight. Since the Trout-Cotto fight I've watched more tape of Trout, and what I've seen from him in no way screams "I'll TKO Canelo."

Of course its gonna happen and Torut derserves it after beating Cotto, Its not top rank here, GBP makes the big fights and fights there fighters within the group also.
