I've been saying this for a while but some of you numbskulls just can't seem to get it.

Canelo will fight GGG next year:deal DLH will try to build up to that fight hoping that the anticipation will deliver high PPVs. Even if the next couple of fights mean 400k-600k PPV's fighting the Smiths, Curtises or Lemiuxes.

Positive or negative, both Canelo and GGG will benefit from all this controversy and IMO the numbers in their respective upcoming fights will show that but the numbers will also show Canelo is still a bigger draw, by a lot, and will use that in their negotiations. And not having the belt will mean that Canelo is not beholden to the 55/45 split which only benefited GGG. Again, simple Business 101 to anyone with half a brain.

In the meantime, carry on all you keyboard warriors.:hat

That would be great if it happens, and yes you would be the new prez of ESB bizness if you are calling it correct

But I wouldn't call it 101....they are taking a huge risk with his brand, and I dare say giving up more and more negotiating power if they're going to spending the next year fighting a couple of Liam Smiths for middling PPV buy rates.

One big fight for GGG and boom there's a new A side in town

Anything can happen, and I'm not even talking about the X's and O's

Yes like history is full of examples isn't it?

    Lewis vs. Bowe
    Klitschko vs. Valuev
    Oscar vs. Tszyu
    RJJ vs. Michaelczweski

Each time the excuse-makers were on the blogs and forums saying how it's a smart business move the fight is delayed, how it will be soooooo much bigger when it finally happens. And then, it never happened :rofl:rofl:rofl

So he'd rather give the 65 or whatever percentage has the champion to have the 35% as the challenger,is that what you're saying? Cause I don't see GGG fight him now except if he's a mandatory or having another belt

Agree that they're taking a huge gamble with the brand but I'm guessing that DLH is using the FLoyd blueprint.

No. Not sure where you are getting your info but as an optional fight, the contract, for the most part, is open to negotiations. And even more so without the belt on the line. You think DLH/Canelo are going through all this BS just so they can accept 35% in future negotiations. No wonder some of you really think this is about Canelo being scared of GGG.

Only idiots believe he dropped the belt because he wanted a bigger split lol. He dropped the belt so he wouldn't be forced to fight golovkin. Every rational boxing fan knows that if this fight happens it doesn't happen anytime soon, until golovkin loses or noticibly slows down like Floyd did with pac.

He didn't drop a belt, but he backtracked off his saying; "anyone from 154-68" stance when it pertained to Ward:deal:lol:

There is definitely less pressure in negotiations now. Much less pressure when negotiations are nonexistent.
