Hopefully Smith doesn't pressure Alvarez too much, he's sensitive.

    Wake up man.

    It's not a business move.

He clearly doesn't want the fight.

There's rumours of him wanting to fight Liam Smith next.

Some of you clearly tend to voice you're biased opinions based on rumors.

Realistically, at 25, Canelo can't keep dehydrating to 154/155 and then rehydrating up to and beyond 170. It's not healthy.

How many meaningful fights can he have under 160?

Again, sooner or later he'll have to commit to fighting at MW.

Now GG has the WBA, the IBF, and he'll soon be obtaining Canelo's WBC belt. Now if he can get Saunders or Jacobs in the ring and he can beat them, he will then own every belt in the division.

What I want to know is, if when Canelo finally moves up to MW GG has all of the belts, where does that leave Canelo? How much leverage would he have at that point?

True, but as per my previous post, if when they fight it's a voluntary, but GG is 'The Man' with all of the belts, what are going to be the realistic percentages?

As far as leverage for negotiations, since when do belts trump PPV drawing power in real life?

Of course this could all backfire at anytime for Canelo/DLH but my guess is they're banking on still being the bigger draw next year and will use that to their advantage come negotiating time.

GG is on the rise. Canelo's actions have enhanced GG's reputation and have damaged his own.

In my opinion, GG's PPV figures will rise dramatically with each fight, especially if he claims all of the belts.

If/when Canelo finally commits to MW, he'll be under immense pressure to fight GG if he's still there.

If GG becomes more popular and he owns every belt, he's not going to give Canelo a bigger percentage.

I don't think Canelo has loads of great options below MW, and I don't think he'll have the power at the negotiating table that Oscar seems to think he's got at the moment.

Like you say, this could backfire spectacularly.

Biased? Only to common sense! A duck is a duck is a duck is a duck.

I can't really disagree much with anything you posted except that Canelo still has drawing power leverage at this point.

THis will all become evident when the dust settles after both of their next respective fights. Both sides better chose their next dance partner very carefully.

Canelo has done severe damage to his fan base, another dud fight and he is going to start chasing off even more. He is in a tricky spot right now and seems to not be doing the right thing
