You still think that Canelo wants the fight?

    Really?

There's a lot of people who are not looking ahead.

Realistically, at 25, how many fights below 160 can Canelo have in the next few years? Who's he going to fight? How long can he keep draining to 154/155 etc, and then rehydrating up to beyond 170?

Sooner or later, he's going to have to commit to fighting at 160. But what if by the time he gets there, GG is still there with ALL of the belts? Then what? Where would that leave Canelo and Oscar? What leverage would they have?

I agree and great point about the IBF morning weigh ins :good

I think he will miss the weight at LMW, pay whoever it is a sum of money and basically continue to fight at this 155 he seems to enjoy, he might get brave and go to 156 :think

Can you not appreciate the huge difference in circumstances?

    It's called circumstances.

How on earth could you advocate him fighting Liam Smith instead of GG after everything that's happened and all of the comments Canelo's made?

"I will fight him at 160lb, no problem," said Alvarez, who fought Khan at a catch-weight of 155lb.

"Weight will not be an issue -

I would have fought him in the ring tonight. I'm not afraid of anyone."

And that's exactly what he's trying to do now. Having the belt would have cost Canelo millions of dollars come negotiating time so he dropped the belt. Nothing more than a business move.

So making offers to Liam Smith at 154 is what? A business move?

Canelo's stock is going to go down with this, all the damage control from GBP won't stop that.
