Yeah that 1st decision still annoys me. That was his fight to show all the doubters wrong, and he did, but it was taken away from him by corruption. I hope GGG smokes him but Canelo has a great chin and has shown he can take GGGs power. It's going the full 12 unless Golovkins punch resistance is declining.
From memory I think I scored the first fight 116-112 Golovkin and the second fight 115-113 Golovkin. The 118-110 to Canelo scorecard in the first one was an outrage.
I don't think Alvarez will stop GGG and I actually think all this messing around at different weights may play into GGG's hands. I still don't think the second fight was scored properly and had it been this fight would have been a lot sooner and would have been a lot better, especially at 160, a weight which Alvarez knew he was going to find it hard to carry on fighting at because of the obvious.
I think my interest in boxing was at an all time high when the first fight finally happened because I just wanted GGG to prove to evryone that he was the best. He did, he was brilliant, so good that with 3 rounds left I was sitting there thinking "Alvarez needs two knockdowns to salvage anything from this fight" and yet he gets the draw. In that first fight GGG showed that he had everything but the result clearly messed him up which is why we saw his different approach in the second. Once he went back to what he does best in the second half of the second fight he was in charge, it shouldn't have been a loss, maybe a draw but never a loss. It will forever wrankle me that the two fights went the way that they did, especially with the Clen thing.
Yeah the matchroom fc mob are turning. Seems more and more are now beginning to see that Hearn just talk pure bollocks all the time.
So Matchroom’s only September offering requires you to pay more money on top of your subscription fee and their only August offering is a Next Gen card.
I expect a massive announcement soon from Eddie Hearn and Matchroom regarding the autumn plans for DAZN UK / Matchroom Boxing. Where are all the events we have been promised ?
From what I’ve heard/seen, these are the remaining headliners for DAZN UK for the rest of the year... Conor Benn 8th October Joe Cordina v Shakvat Rakhimov Josh Warrington v Luis Alberto Lopez Leigh Wood v Kiko Martinez or Lara Chisora December Fight
It’s atrocious that we don’t even get all US fights included in our subscription. Who could even defend DAZN at this point?
What the f*ck are people in the UK actually meant to be paying for the next couple of months, Dalton Smith vs the 26th best Super Lightweight in Britain?!
Golden Boy Promotion's DAZN events thursday nights are broadcast live and free on YouTube, so it doesn't bring in more customers.
