ODH says "I want my bread winner to always fight the best......so he
    throws Canelo in with Hagler".

    A Hagler vs Roldan replay????

It really doesn't end all that well for Canelo.

Canelo mind games would bring out the mean streak in Hagler.
Just like Hearn's did when he cancelled the first fight and made
Hagler wait 3 yrs. Canelo dragged out negotiations with Golovkin
    for similar period of time.
Prime Hagler would take Canelo best shots and pick him apart like
he did Sibson. Hagler via tko in 8 rds.

I'll withold judgement until Canelo/GGG happens...but with that said, i don't think Canelo has enough power in his punches to get Hagler's respect. Duran may have hit harder than Canelo at the weight...IMO. Let's see if Canelo can make his mark against GGG...it will be the test.

I doubt he will, standing in front of GGG is a recipe for disaster. His last move up in class against Mayweather was an embarassment.

I tend to agree, although I would suggest that Golovkin presents Canelo with an altogether different set of challenges than did Mayweather.

Here, Canelo will be the hunted. I think the question will be whether or not he can undo Golovkin, through a defensive, counter-offensive strategy. Just a thought.

That might very well be Canelo strategy. Though I do not seem him implementing it with success against GGG.
Contrary to the general view, this is not a diffiuclt bout to predict in my opinion.

You may well turn out to be right. For Canelo to succeed, it would require a Herculean effort and it's one of those bouts, which doesn't tell us a lot, unless Canelo delivers a surprise victory or he gets absolutely blown away.

If Canelo were to win then there's likely to be some serious head-scratching going on about how - and what this means for Golovkin. Conversely, if Canelo clearly fails, I think it likely that the result would put paid to any notion of him having been a serious challenge to Hagler.

As long as Canelo fought the fight of his life, he would get knocked out by Hagler in 6-8 rounds. Anything less than his best, Canelo gets knocked out sooner.

Canelo is not in Marvin Hagler's class. Hagler would beat him to a pulp.

I'm not convinced Golovkin beats Hagler, nevermind Canelo.

Canelo might put up a bit of a fight but Hagler would grind him down to pulp like he did everyone else.

Hagler would absolutely destroy Canelo. This thread must be a joke.
