British commentary was so poor. Can’t believe Steve had Plant up. Canelo was cruising even the round or two he dropped it weren’t because Plant done anything special, it was Canelo taking rounds off. Canelo was wearing him down from start to finish, in the end I thought it was very comfortable for him. Plant deserves credit though. He done much better than Saunders and Smith.
I thought there were some close rounds and Plant gave a good account of himself. HBO cards had Canelo miles ahead while I scored it closer, ultimately Canelo was in control and not troubled although Plant showed some good skills. He did as well as I expected Saunders to do but never delivered! I'm amazed how Canelo's power has INCREASED as he's moved up the weight.
Bunce ringside with Calzaghe, Frampton, Haye in the studio and Tibbz who could barley string a sentence together on live TV.
I gave Plant 3 rounds at most and one of them was the first another was Canelo taking a round off, sitting on the ropes setting traps but Plant barely threw.
Calzaghe and frampton usually speak well so not too bad. Bunce I don't know. Used to like him but he is pretty annoying
Plant just didn't have the power to canelo away. Most fights it probably works but at that level it seems canelo has enough to catch them at some point.
He done absolutely nothing to trouble Canelo, had a few little flurry’s that Canelo laughed off and showed some good defence. The best things Plant done were defensively and barely won a round for me. 3 at a push.
Fck me it’s absolutely painful watching/listening to Hearn suck up to Canelo at every opportunity. He’s like a teenage girl on social media. He was calling him a cheat 2 years ago ffs.
Canelo never in any danger of losing to Tomato Plant even though @Olu G. Rotimi had him favourite. Next in line ...........
No matter how I hard I try I just can't seem to warm to Alvarez for whatever reason. One of those weird things.
I thought it was going to be a very easy nights work for Canelo but Plant impressed me and did far better than I expected. It wasn't the best version of Canelo though, who looked very tired from round 4 (maybe 4 fights 11 months taking its toll, smart that Canelo now saying he won't fight untill may and will have rest). I wasn't scoring the fight properly (I'll have to rewatch) but overall it seemed a close fight untill Plant began to tire too and Canel's power difference showed yo be the difference in the 11th.
It’s understandable, he’s got the drugs episode and he’s got the Golovkin win (leaving the second one out as I thought he won that). But at the same time you’ve got to appreciate what Canelo is doing. It’s been a long time since a champion was so active, moving up the weights, title after title, unifying the division last night. I’d probably have him in my top 10 p4p of my lifetime.
BT using the old 'hes doing better than expected so give him rounds' scoring system. Canelo never looked in trouble and he just carries his power through fights. Every punch he throws is vicious.
