We are fortunate to have been able to watch Canelo's career, but can we at least wait until he beats one of the best light heavyweights, before we start matching him against Marciano? Two fighters who dared to be great, but different weight classes.
Certainly ain't no fan of yours or keep track of what you say, i don't normally read your posts either. You said it recently in a thread that i was very active in and i happen to catch it, and it was one of the worst takes i've ever seen so it was fresh in my memory. As for the quote it had exactly the same meaning, and was almost identical to what you said ? don't try and be smart with me. So Canelo who has well known stamina issues and has never fought at Cruiserweight, is the favourite to you vs one of the hardest hitting most well conditioned Cruiserweight/Heavyweights, who rates very highly H2H especially between 185-200 ? But no according to you we're all wrong Marciano isn't highly rated H2H at those specific weights, and he loses because in your opinion because "he looks bad on film". Even though Canelo as i said never fought at Cruiserweight and has stamina issues. Amazing logic got anymore wisdom for us ?
Bingo !! Actually , Canelo dosent even take the fight even with the rigged Vegas venue in his back pocket and with Adailade Byrd being the only judge
Canelo has a competitive 1st round with his nifty little lean back counters and body work, but then Rocky decides to just bulldoze him with bludgeoning blows knocking him down twice before the ref waves it off. Canelo's punches would be doing like 3% damage and he would get overwhelmed unable to create any breathing room or do any mid range boxing. If he tries trading, he dies in the first 40 seconds.
Exactly i apologize if i seemed harsh in this thread that's not normally how i like to come across, but i've been seeing some really awful takes as of late and it's just annoying so i had to just speak my mind on it. Canelo is a fighter that likes to fight in spurts and even then he's still known to fade late in fights, there's numerous examples of it happening just look at his last fight vs Ryder if you want evidence of it. Now i'm not as big on Marciano as some are and i think he would be found wanting against bigger stronger heavyweights like Liston, Foreman, etc. But he certainly deserves more respect than not being picked against frigging Canelo. Marciano is the bigger stronger fighter with much better stamina more consistent punching power throughout a fight. I don't see how logically Canelo can be favoured in this match up.
Nice write up and keep speaking your mind.. Besides mayweather,jr, Canelo is the most popular fighter of the last decade. .He gets outpointed , at least by the majority of the boxing world, twice by an old GGG .. And now he some sort of ATG ... thats why you see these gooyed eyed fans come in and plead their case that Wilder is this great skilled fighter and Canelo can beat Marciano ... Thats how sad the current state of boxing has been in for a long time now.
Even assuming the best case scenario and Canelo manages to bamboozle Marciano in the first few rounds ... I can't see any scenario where his leaky gas tank matches up well with Marciano's seemingly limitless one. No judges needed for this one.
I was one of the guys that thought Marciano might have beaten a crap version of early Lewis. Eg Billups version of Lewis. Let's not forget that Lennox delivered some stinker performances in his career together with the great ones.
Lennox gets too hyped sometimes. There is always some level of greatness and another one of the same that one is simply not on.
I don't get it....first you pick Lewis to beat Marciano and now you pick Marciano to beat Canelo. You're a strange one.
