Yeh I heard that he's been dropped with body shots too. That and being knocked out cold is a bit different to slipping on the canvas as someone mentioned earlier. And that's with big gloves on too so he shouldn't really be spouting on calling people glass chinned should he. To be fair he took kilos shots alright though
If you never ever get buzzed in sparring then you don't have high enough quality sparring partners. If you get knocked down, well, so what? If you are knocked cold then barring an unfortunate slip by both boxers someone isn't doing their job right.
Simspon is a tough fighter but he's unfortunately a domestic level fighter, (no disrespect) he'll give most a tough fight but he comes up short above domestic. Both Quigg and Frampton would beat him.
Yes totally agree but the British Title opens a lot of doors.. I would like to see John in with Quigg but can't see Hearn taking that risk..
Simpsons probably past his best now. He's always fought bigger guys and been in a lot of wars. Quigg and Frampton would be in very tough fights vs John because they wont hold size advantages. Simpson's beat and been Robbed by guy's tipped for big things in the past while being naturally smaller. Martin Lindsay was highly rated after destroying Mathews and Appleby then Simpson swaggers into Belfast and dethrones Lindsay in front of his crazy fans. He really has been a superb little fighter domestically over the years. I remember sitting up and taking notice of him when he fought Derry Mathews who was being hyped up at the time, I thought John was robbed in that fight. He then went on to ko Andy Morris in their third fight and he was highly rated at he time as well. Simpson was blatantly robbed vs Dazzo Williams and Steven Smith in their first fight. He was also unlucky to be on the end of defeats vs Appleby and Steven Smith ll. He's only ever been on the end of three genuine defeats in my book- Against Andy Morris in their first fight during the days John didn't train properly (pre Billy Nelson) and against Selby and Coyle who were just too big and strong for John. Even against Choi the size difference was very noticeable. I thought John got lucky in that fight for a change, a draw would have been fair.
Frampton answers back. http://www.newsletter.co.uk/sport/boxing/carl-frampton-blasts-scott-quigg-1-5851282
What else his is going to say? I call quigg glass but infact it's me? I reckon it's like a relationship where the one who's accuses the other of cheating is really the cheat. Frampton calls quigg glass chinned all the time but really it's to cover his own weakness
