Carl Frampton/Steve Molitor September 22nd

Think they are I'm supposed to be getting mine off a mate of a mate so hopefully it works out. Good card overall just a shame it clashes with another great card.

Have you seen Molitors last 3 fights?

Looked pretty average against Booth, and he's got worse since then, losing quite handily to Ndlovu and more recent winning a SD over the woefully average Sebastian Gauthier.

Molitor is way over the hill, Frampton will dominate and knock him out.

 

Is it really? Martinez is a much stiffer test IMO, he's still quite fresh and has the desire, Molitor doesn't.

 

Martinez stylistically I think is tougher. Add to that he has looked much improved and has a punch while molitor looks on his way out as you pointed out. Against Frampton I think he'll be showing up even more but still a good name for a young fighter like Carl. Not too long ago Molitor was challenging at world level

 

Its an easier fight for Frampton than Martinez IMHO. Molitor is at the point now where a busy, young, come forward fighter should be able to get close and outwork him.

 

Molitor is shot to bits. No way is this a tougher fight than Kiko. It's a quality replacement and there was always the chance Kiko would have too much for the relatively inexperienced Carlos. This is pretty much a nailed on win for Frampton imo.

 

After watching Kiko against Martirosyan not too long back, I have to disagree..I think Carl would beat him handily, but It would still have been a much tougher task then Molitor.

 

TBH i heard Martinez looked pretty average against a journeyman last time out in Ireland. Did anyone see that fight?.

 

Heard the same mate, it was against Douggie Curran, my guess is he took it at very short notice after signing to fight Frampton.

 

Oh right :good, I think both are toughish tests for Framps at this stage. It's one extreme to another, Molitor's classy boxing or Martinez bullish attacks. Frampton's got a tough nights work, I expect him to win on points or take Molitor out late. It really depends on how he boxes cos last time it was rather to safety first for my liking...

Frampton is full of belief to take this on, he could of said nah cos many fighters hate southpaws. Let's hope this doesn't end up like another short notice replacement in Belfast against a former world champion in Corley..

Excellent matchmaking, its equally as good a scalp, although he won't pick up the belt.

Molitor is probably a bigger name than anyone Munroe or Quigg have beaten. Fair play to Team Frampton.

 

I think Molitor is a better fighter, even now, than Martinez. He's not what he was at his best, but can still handle most B-level guys. If Carl wins this and looks impressive, it will say a lot about his potential.
