Keeping the unbeaten record and cold hard cash over the long term trump P4P mystical ratings

Considering how Frampton was full of himself, talking about how talented he is prior to the Quigg fight, he went very quiet now when it's time to face the real champion. Also I am getting the feeling that Frampton and his team and trying to distance themselves from the Rigo fight.

    Definitely not a good look.

Frampton's off up; the weight is too hard.

He doesn't want to fight with Rigo I don't think - but the plan's always been Quigg and up since Gonzalez.

Well, they both called each other out (or at least stated that they'd be willing to make the fight) but Rigo won't just beat him, he'll make him look very ordinary so I think Haymon will choose to have one potential big star rather than sacrificing one of his moneymakers and searching for a name opponent to the other.

You reckon Haymon does him and Leo?

That's sort of like a spoiled kid having two of whatever the going dominant-trending xmas-season must-haves are, then smashing them into each other repeatedly until one's head pops off the moment they leave the box.

Who knows? It won't be rigo though. For both reasons.

Yeah I guess so...especially given that American TV kind of hates Rigo and won't sweeten the pot too much to make it worth anybody's while. :conf

What we do know is that Haymon actually does match his guys against really tough guys. Always has and I think he could go for Rigo.

If Frampton beats Rigo, Frampton's stock would go through the roof, and that would put him as a top 5 p4p fighter possibly if he impresses.

Yeah the money won't be there, but that's short term. He'll probably make 1.5 anyways, just like he did against Quigg. If he beats Rigo, he'll get such a big following in Europe and other places too.

    It's all about long term.

Not if he looked as poor as he did last weekend. That's for sure.

But I'm suspecting his idiotic decision to have a 17 week training camp was the reason for that. I suspect he overtrained himself and that's why he looked so off.

I think he definitely has a shot, not a big one but he could.

Rigo hasn't really fought top competition since Donaire and looked more vulnerable than usually against Amagasa. I haven't watched that in ages but I think Amagasa dropped him twice before getting stopped himself.

It wouldn't be the wide UD people think, in my opinion. Frampton is a good enough boxer to win some of the stinky rounds from Rigo.

Either way, I don't see the fight happening. Especially not at this weight.

Both are undamaged by the result of any fight, in my opinion. Frampton still sells out arenas in Belfast and people will still stupidly watch Leo fight against joiners and electricians.

Now that the wba have ordered the fight by July 27th. Will he vacate and move up or get schooled by the Cuban ?
