A belt and the fact that Leo Santa Cruz isn't allowed to leave his yard.

Before the legend of Manny Pacquiao rose to its cosmic heights (or rather, overlapping with the early rise), Kirilov was at one time among the brightest stars of Freddie Roach's stable in the post- James Toney era.

Yeah, that and Mijares really made Vic.

He destroyed two really good technical boxers and proved he was more than just a wild awkward southpaw gorilla man. (or that being a wild awkward southpaw gorilla man could be effective)

    Round 1

Kirilov is jabbing and dancing to his left. McCullough sticks him with a long left jab and cracks a right in on Kirilov's temple. Kirilov takes it well and dances away, exploring angles for his light pecking jab. McCullough takes his measure, not in a hurry to cut the ring off, exploiting his reach advantage to just reach in with his own much longer jab.

10-9 McCullough but not much in that

    Round 2

Kirilov is planting his feet and then extending his back leg, staking it and dragging in the front to narrow up. Kirilov at 35 clearly doesn't have the legs for much wasted energy in his footwork so he is using what he does have, economical - but resulting in the long-armed quick-handed McCullough having an easy time finding him with jabs and downward slapping rights. Kirilov is out of range to counter with anything. Kirilov bounces on his heels and circles away when McCullough closes in. Kirilov slows and settles again, ducking low with his feet planted. Kirilov rises with a pair of hooks after dipping below the waist to slip under McCullough's jabs, but hits arm.

    10-9 McCullough

    20-18 McCullough

This kinda sucks to watch. :sad2

Former champ (never a puncher to begin with) being toyed with by a so-so regional prospect who is much younger and much bigger.

I see his big years were 2005-2008, wich means it was in my off fase when it comes to boxing.
At the time I was only following boxing off and on, so not strange this guy slipped past my attention.
