I really like Froch because he embodies the idea that when you believe in yourself you can do anything. Froch is not a standout athlete, but he wills himself to compete against world-class competetion. He wills himself to win, even when he's getting beat early on. And he stands up for himself after the fight. It's like pure, unadulterated self-belief has made him a champ. Saying that, I realize that some other people find Froch arrogant. So now I have to ask myself -- why is it that Mayweather's attitude annoys me but Froch's does not? Hmmm...
Clearly not a 'fraud' by any means, if he was a fraud he wouldn't even be competing with these guys let alone getting wins by hook or by crook. He's a bit of an enigma. He looks truely horrible in the ring. He doesn't seem very accurate, his co-ordination isn't all that good, he's slow as ****, the slowest super middle at the top level I've probably ever seen. He just basically looks very awkward, and kinda bad, but he's obviously doing a lot right at the same time. He must be very strong, he must be punching hard, and as bad as he looks he's kind of awkward and that must make it difficult for opponents too. I think he's one of those guys that doesn't really translate well to the observer. When you're in there with him it probably looks a lot different.
Dirrel won the Froch fight but only just. What spoilt it was the holding, running, bitching, falling on his arse antics,so having said all that i`m glad he didn`t get the win.
Even though I obviously dislike him no one can deny that the man has balls to join a tournament like this and put his 0 at risk when he could easily take the Calzaghe route and fight cans for eternity till everyone is shot, he even has a far better title won in far better fashion than Calzaghe's first title win. Froch went all the way to the US to get that belt in a fight he was badly hurt early, knocked down and rocked numerous times.
Personally I like Froch, I find him entertaining out of the ring and he always looks to smash his opponents in the ring. I've never seen someone who is as cool, calm and confident as he is. His boxing style is strange, kinda goofy, he's not fast, he chooses not to put his hands up etc. yet he somehow pulls out the win. I think people will always expect Froch to get knocked out cause of his style, but the thing that's not easy to see, his mental fortitude, is what gets him the W in my opinion.
He's a douche. And his biggest downfall is that he keeps claiming he was happy with his performance against Dirrell. That should be sending red flags up all over the place for Froch fans. He isn't getting it, which means he will not get better, which means he loses in the near future. but he isn't afraid of anyone, I'll give him that. Keith
Because Mayweather is arrogant. Froch is just confident. The guy's beat everyone he's fought and he's fought some good names. Sometimes he's been the underdog and he's always getting ragged for "not being a good boxer" but so far its worked well for him against world class opposition. No way is he a fraud.
He's an unbeaten world champion whose beaten Pascal/Dirrell/Taylor of course he's a ****ing force. Next stupid thread?
The sad thing is, even if he KOs Kessler, ppl will say he will be KO by AA, then if he KO AA ppl will just say he will lose to whoever he fights next. People talk about how ugly and lucky he was vs Dirrel and he should be thankfull that Dirrell ran like a girl but maybe the fact Dirrell did run is the only reason Dirrell didnt leave the place on a stretcher.
Even though Kessler is not the same fighter he was on the night he beat Andrade, for example, he is still a B+ fighter. If Froch beats Kessler fair and square, even in a close fight, I think there can no longer be any doubts about how good Froch really is. Even if he beats a B to B+ version of Kessler, it still counts for a hell of a lot. Kessler is the first proven world class fighter Froch will have faced, and he is clearly still a better than average world class fighter even now that he has declined. This is the biggest fight of Froch's career - the fight that will finally answer the question: How good is he really?
He is a force end of the day hasnt ducked anyone beaten 3 world class fighters in a row cant really complain at that. Not perfect who cares? He does what he knows and does it well
