The networks would take a JCCJR-Froch fight as PPV and he would get the venue he wants? HBO shot down Froch-GGG there's not a lot of American PPV options.

If this Ward fight happens that would be 3 mandated fights in a row for Froch and Ward is a tougher opponent than Degale. Froch could drop the belt and fight Chaves but he isn't. Degale had his chance and blew it Froch got his huge domestic fights with Groves and now wants a American PPV fight it's that simple. I don't see a fighter like Froch who has fought everyone as ducking anybody. There's always going to be younger guys coming up he can't fight them all and he already beat and knocked out the guy Degale lost to twice. He wants to check off his American PPV dream it's not like were talking about a fighter who has ducked opponents.

Degale is good and Froch is faded BUT Degale fights flat footed most of the time with his hands down. He also squares up with an opponent and while hitting Groves hard and flush many times couldn't get him out and lost. Froch would beat Degale, Degale isn't there yet.

The Chaves fight could be legit ( as in at least Chaves has fought someone decent ) IF he gets by Fonfara who is a decent opponent who is ranked in the top 5 at LHW by the WBC.

He has been mentioning a PPV fight in America for awhile and wants one before he retires. He has already said if he wants a big fight in UK he could go with Groves or Degale. He tried to see if a Froch-GGG fight would be PPV HBO said no. Who else is there for a PPV fight in America for him? He's stuck with Chaves and it will do PPV numbers it just won't break any records. His career is done and he already has a pretty good legacy especially being the underdog in most of his biggest fights while being known as a limited fighter also.

I agree fighting Chavez would be a money grab.

But the thing is, Froch has said he only got one fight left in him. During his career he has beaten several world level fighters, such as Taylor, Pascal, Kessler and Bute. Closing the show by going up against a domestic fighter like DeGale, who lost twice to Groves, can't be too thrilling. DeGale is basicly a lesser version of Groves, and would perhaps be able to win because Froch is aging. If Froch would win the fight, he breaks no new ground, if he loses it, it would be written of as a past prime-affair.

Not that I know where Froch who would find the ideal opponent :huh Ward seems to have other plans, HBO turned down a fight with Golovkin, and if Chavez can't be bothered, Froch seems pretty much out of options.

HBO didn't turn down GGG, its just not an HBO ppv at this stage. But they would love to televise it from the UK, where it would be a big fight and likely ppv?

Frochs team went to HBO to see if a GGG-Froch PPV fight in America was viable they said no. Froch stated he could fight Groves or Degale in UK and make good money but he wants an American PPV.

I think he wants to headline a PPV in Vegas so he is looking for an opponent to set that up. Froch mentioned recently that he would be interested in a GGG fight at the end of the year or early next year if it's American PPV.

He really has one option then, Chavez. I doubt GGG is ppv by the end of year, unless he gets Cotto, Canelo or Chavez. But chances are Froch would make more vs GGG in the UK than vs Chavez on HBO ppv, and it'd be a big fight globally.

Yea but I see Frochs stance on if he is going to fight in the UK for money Degale and Groves would be bigger there than a GGG fight. I don't even think GGG-MM did good numbers in the UK. I don't think it's a legacy issue but more like a bucket list issue. He wants to do something he hasn't done and he has mentioned since the S6 about getting that PPV fight in Vegas. If Cotto stops holding up the lineal spot and GGG can unify some belts maybe he can be that PPV later. I would rather have GGG finish up at MW before he goes up to SMW anyway. Hopefully some important MW fights after Monroe.

Amazing what the threat of having your belt/bargaining chip taken away from you will do to a mans opinion...

I don’t want to fight Andre Ward. I’m a fighter. I’m not bothered to go in there and say that Andre Ward, if I didn’t knock him out, he would beat me on points. But that is not a big fight. American TV don’t want to show him on box office. So why do I want to fight Andre Ward? What’s the point?”

    -Carl Froch January 2015

I fought him in the US,’ Froch says. ‘Now it’s only right that he comes over here. To be a truly great champion you have to box overseas.
‘Ward needs to be forced to travel out of his comfort zone.
‘I dare him. He will discover that I’m a very different animal here than I was that night on the Boardwalk.’

If Froch gets all this hate for wanting easy final fight then how has Ward got any fans left at all?, he wont fight anyone of note, wont leave his backyard and refuses almost anything suggested.

As a Ward fan, I have to say it is very difficult to keep supporting him. With all the inactivity, PR nightmares every time he opens his mouth and what seems to be an inflated sense of self worth it's near impossible to defend his actions.

All I really have left his hope. Hope that he can make the right choices to further his career. Him signing with Roc Nation was a positive move as was the WBA mandating a fight with Froch.

But with him seemingly trying to negotiate other fights other than Froch I am skeptical in regards to his desire to actually fight Froch next. The WBA mandating the fight seemed to be a perfect situation, he was going to get the most lucrative fight available and if it went to purse bids he'd get 75% but even this doesn't seem to be enough to convince Ward to make the fight. I just hope all the rumours of him trying to make other fights is a ploy to get more money out of Hearn and Froch.

I still have hope and am holding on to that but if he keeps looking for easy fights or shows no willingness to actually compromise even a little to make the big, lucrative fights he has so vehemently stated he wants then I suspect I'll find myself being unable to defend his actions anymore.
