People are going to ride rough-shod over this thread and roar about how Benn would destroy Froch, but I say very, very good fight. Froch is the better boxer and counter-puncher and this gives him a stylistic edge over Benn.

However, I do feel Benn's natural aggression and punch-resistance at the weight would give Benn the edge overall, but Froch's own power and punch-resistance means that there would be all kinds of thrills and spills whichever way the fight ended. I think a points victory for either man is not out of the question, but if this fight was happening tomorrow i'd pick Benn to stop Froch on his feet...no money going down.

Benn would knock him out....If Froch was stunned by Dirrell, Taylor, and Kessler, He'd be in shock once Benn connected on him.

On his best night Benn would get the win I think. Froch in the Abraham fight would have a chance IMO the way he fought there.

Good post. If everyone posted like you I might put a tad more effort into my own responses.

Early Froch? Benn by brutal KO. Post Super 6 Froch? Boxing clinic, but dangerous.

Some guys come along slowly. Some guys need a slap in the face. Froch is the latter. It seems to me that Froch, by running into so much stiff competition in the Super 6 has really stepped up his Boxing IQ realizing that slugging isn't in his best interest and has become a premier Boxer Puncher.

  10. Benn by late KO, MAYBE DECISION, Benn was a damn great fighter, but still can't believe he lost to Sugar Malinga....

Benn's power wasn’t as good at super middleweight but I think he still had enough to take out Froch late

As great as Benn was, his power @ 168lbs often gets hugely overrated. He never brutally ko'ed anyone at that weight, yet some people think he'd knock out the whole Super 6 line up.

Froch wouldn't land the rangey combos (from AA fight) on Benn. Just watch the Benn-Eubank II fight, where Benn slips, rolls and weaves with everything Eubank got off making it look as if sharp slick Eubank was throwing 12 rounds of inaccurate shoeshiners. Benn was also more of a boxer-puncher at 168, evading and countering or backing off to the ropes to counter with power.

    Awkward match.

Froch is taller, rangier, very relaxed and like liquid terminator when he's forced to go to war.

It would be interesting but I'd probably go with Benn to counter the slowish longish leads with stinging bangs, and take Froch out at some point before the 7th.

Froch can't help himself, gets all macho at the City Ground, gets into a war, and loses.

Benn by Brutal KO ..As much as I love the Cobra I don't think he has enough pop to stop the Dark Destroyer !
