Am British and everybody I know who has any interest in boxing doesnt like hi it has nothing to do with and american/British thing
mostly it is American boxing fans who do not understand his sense of humour that find him arrogant - that and they hate him for beating popular fight Taylor (and I do laugh everytime someone calls it a lucky late KO - it was hardly a one punch KO - he wore Taylor down and beat the fight out of him - that is a LEGIT way to win a fight) Another reason for the hate is that many like slick defensive boxers and think that that is the only true sytle. Boxing is great cause of all style, the swarmers, bralwers, boxers, KO artists, defensive technictians . and to be honest Froch's style makes for good fight (dirrell aside). the more people hate on Froch the more I like him. and he never said he dominate Dirrell - all he said was that Dirrell was not looking to trade and Dirrell uses his skill to spoil the fight. he is right and the right man won on the night.
I don't really know his personality, but like him as a fighter. He seems very beatable yet he just keeps winning. To me that makes him an exciting boxer.
Arrogance and boxing goes hand in hand. What are you gonna say "I might win this fight", you can do that in other sports not boxing. Froch has beaten Pascal, Taylor and Dirrell and will soon slay Kessler. Cant wait for him to win the tournament.
He is just very hateable. I can't wait for his fight for Abe. Abe's gonna BRUTALIZE that knucklehead. The thing is, I expect that after he gets almost snuffed by Abraham, his manner will change and I won't hate him anymore. It would be quite a feat if he retained his hateability after a KO.
I love Froch's attitude. He's the ultimate professional. Doesnt drink/smoke, in the gym all the time and he just loves fighting. He'll fight anybody, anywhere and he gives it 110% everytime he steps into that ring. The guy is a warrior. What's not to like?
u miss the point but just being in the ring with guys like pascal, taylor, dirrell and now kessler in 18 months? come on...guys like sturm hasnt done that his entire career...
I think hes a great to watch, not the most skilled, but he pulls out the win, he comes to fight, In fact i dont know if anyone else has noticed....but he's like the SMW version of Ricky Hatton!!!
I thought that after all the drama surrounding the recent Dirrell fight Arthur Abraham may have become the most hated European fighter, but still the hate pours down on Carl Froch!!
that's true.... he's likened himself to sugar ray leonard in terms of style and ability.... which is laughable if he wasn;t so serious....and he comes across in interviews as a bit of a wanker.... listen to him on the ropes "you what?... do i think..." he sounds a bit like Amir Khan
Leave it mate,i`m not a Froch fan,but, whoever he fights,however he improves, whover he still beats you`ll still get people on here who want him out of the sport.Someones calling his girlfriend a ***** now,with silly ****s like that who have more than just hate for him.
Because the hatred is because of his shitty personality rather than fighting (which, incidentaly, blows as well).
I can't knock a fighter for taking on challenges. He earns his purse the hard way and fights like a man.
He has a bit of a Calzaghe thing.I dont rate the guy at all but he keeps doing the job so i have to have respect for him.I think he will come unstuck against Kess but......
