People can take a pop at "arrogant carl" all they want but when facts come to facts HE was the brit who went and took on all comers overseas, he was the one who even the yanks had respect for and he was the one who paved the way for current success in the sport.

I don't care of he's a bit big headed or cringey at times, 99% of the time he comes across as a guy id like to have a beer with

Not at all like weird george "gollum" groves who started trying to act like some weird mystic like adam booth, got given easy shot after easy shot over and over again then beats a bum paper champ like chudinov and everyone considers it a "brilliant win for grovesy"

And when it comes down to it, in front of 80,000 in Wembley mate.

Notice how Carl Froch is on the same camp as AJ with a lot of the "hardcores"

You know our two most decorated champions since Lennox Lewis

"Ooooh arrogant, mask slipping, don't like his personality"

Its like the fanbase is allergic to success "give us a loveable loser any day"

that's generalizing a bit though. Froch is a great fighter and I admire what he did but what astounds me is how delusional he sounds, and the fact he thinks people will actually swallow what he is saying. Ward only won by holding, Ward was fired from HBO for being boring and that's the reason he was forced to retire. This guy is meant to be a pundit now...

I don't mind a bit of arrogance but to me Carl has a few issues. He seems to have a massive ego that needs to be maintained years after an event by downplaying anyone that had success against him, even when this is utterly unbelievable. Kessler wasn't a loss because he won the rematch apparently, so in his mind he only lost to Ward, but only because the fight was spoiled. I find it more funny that anything to be honest, I was just taken aback by that podcast as he is still raw as ever about Ward and it just makes him look silly going on about it.

I'd be surprised if you would get a word in if you went for a pint with Froch, I think I'd go with having my mind read by Groves, it would be more fun thats for sure :ciappa:

Tszyu was a D level fighter?

Also what made Witter or would have made Witter such a great win? Witter was a true feaster of African and world level bums.

As for Bradley he beat Witter at the tail end of '08, at the same time Hatton was beating Lazcarno and Malignaggi and then obviously got KTFO by Pac in '09. That fight was never relevant at the time.

    Bradley > lazcano or paulie
    anyone saying otherwise dksab
    hatton witter was relevant
So was hatton facing bradley Alexander at the time
Had one fight in two years of so coming off shoulder surgery iirc
Who did he fight after and what did he then go on to achieve besides retirement
same as when Khan beats said world of ex world champions timing as been key

Over Lazcarno no doubt but Malignaggi at the time was more well known and Bradley had only just beaten Witter.

Malignaggi was a much bigger fight at the time.

As for Alexander he was still fighting journeymen in '07/'08 and never really stepped up to fight anyone of note until he embarrassed Witter at the beginning of '09.

Are you saying Hatton should have gone for Alexander or Bradley instead of Pacquaio in '09?

At that time Alexander had just beaten Jesus Rodriguez (19-3 ) and Bradley had just been dropped and beaten Holt on points......how would these have been better fights?

Tszyu wasn't D level but he was washed up and the manner of Hatton win was nigh on disgraceful.

A far greater victory than anything Froch achieved wouldn't you agree?

And one of the greatest ever results from a British fighter, wouldn't you agree?

    No I wouldn't agree.

Tszyu himself is somewhat overrated though an excellent fighter in his prime, and was certainly far removed from his best when Hatton fought him and everyone knew it.

Just watch this. They are discussing Hatton fighting the great Tszyu or a young up and coming Cotto and they all dont want any part of Cotto and advise Hatton to swerve to the beatable Tszyu instead

Tszyu wasn't even the best fighter in the division. "One of the greatest british wins"

    Nah

So who has Froch beaten that is a better fighter than Tszyu?
