Haye sure loves to load up on his punches. No wonder he was showing signs of exhaustion by the third round. He also turns a regular jab from an opponent into a big impact punch because of the way he walks in with his hands down. He's certainly exciting. I'll give him that.
This was probably Carls worst night. Even there an amazing fight [YT]UHI6itEXKOs[/YT] [YT]VzVLQ1NRQSk[/YT]

Thompson true warrior. You tell me a frank warren fighter who would fight for a title against a ring legend like thompson in their 10th pro fight. I like Haye because he takes chances. Has natural ability, quick hand speed and power. I also love Hayes mouth. I love a good trash talker it adds spice to the event and gets you excited about the fight.
yeah the rothman fight was heavy. great action throughout. also rothman was the hieghest rated non title holder at cruiser at the time. laying him out like that!!! personally i felt that thompson was kinda chinny. he could get sparked and could wobble from relativly light shots but his heart and determination is hectic. i've never seen such diehardyness. his stamina and his heavyhandedness always stayed with him. i think haye was too confident on destroying him him early before he became dangerous thinking his speed and combinations would get rid off him early...and why not carl was mad old, hadnt showed his fire like before got handled by rothman for a few rounds and sellers had cleaned him up. it was a decent enough plan to spark him as quick as possible. it was a gamble but a educated enough guess and he paid for it. and by the middle of round 2 you could see haye just suddenly notice that he isnt gonna make it to the end of the fight.
I hope and think Wladimir will beat Haye and stop him within 6 in a one sided fight. But Haye always has a chance to win a HW belt another time.
Not the best fight to bring up seeing as Sellers clobbered Thompson out cold with a pacquiao-hatton style KO.
I was there at Wembley Arena when Haye lost to Thompson... Amazing comeback by Thompson who really was battered for 1 3/4 rounds. One thing to note, however, is that despite the noise and obvious excitement coming from the crowd, the Arena was less than 1/3 full. This fight was poorly attended as no-one thought Thomson had a chance and Haye wasn't a ticket seller.
